Thread: harvester
If my harvester hits zero on the money used for maintence does it just go away at that point or does it stick around for a while?
at that point you start acumulating damage to the structure which must be payed back to fix. also it starts harvesting at a slower rate(so the devs say, i havent let my harvesters drop since the game when live so im not sure)
All i am sure of is that the cost to repair damage is huge compaired to the cost of maintenance. A friend of mine let her 2 harvesters run without maintenance forless thanhalf the day today and the total repair price was over 3k. almost as much as the are worth and way more than the maintenance costs would have been. i told her to let them burn and made her two new ones.
Ah ok. Thanks for the info. At least now I can pay them up front and let them go to town while i'm at work.
Yes, the 0:5 means you have 5 hours remaining. (I know this because I had one at 0:12, came back 3 hours later and it was at 0:9). Also as far as power consumption, after a bit of math when lobbing in oddball amounts of power I've come to the following conclusion.
Harvester: 25 units/Hour used or 600 Power / Real Time Day
This of course coupled with
Wind Gen: 1440 credits maintenance / RTD
Harvesters: 720 credits maintenance / RTD
This is of course without any damage to be repaired, and is upfront money. Repairs will of course cost you more.

Can you pay the maintenence from town, or do youhave to travel out to the harvester to pay it?
How long does it take the harvester to completely collapse from non-payment of maintenence?
When I go on vacation for a week and don't log on, would it be best for me to take the harvester apart (revert it back to a deed) so that it won't collapse?
I think I've got to find a way to make a bucket of cash.......
Agreeing with Yuklon.
Apparantly you need to have 2 days worth of maintenance in a structure before you can re-deed it (yes that means 1440 for mines and 2880 for windmills).
Plus after a two week stint it's quite possible that the resource you were mining would have dissipated or moved (hard to tell, we haven't been up for two weeks yet).
Anyone know if a structure takes maintenance if you have it turned OFF? It obviously won't use power, but if a structure isn't being used I wonder if it still pulls from the maintenance credit pool.

Currently with the cost being the same wehter it is sampling or not, even if i dont need the resource I keep em running. IF it were a reduced cost in its off state, I think alot of ppl would turn them off when not needed, and therefore limit the overflooding of the market with materials.
