Thread: Composite armor colors?!?

OK, devs already now that seeing everyone in composite armor or no armor at all is not a very nice thing. In fact it sucks
But here are some questions why they do everithing to keep it that way?
1. They make a player chose colour to composite armor. MAY I ASK WHY JUST COMPOSITE? every armorsmith can now make large factory runs for composite, while other armors must be crafted by hands to chose colour. This has justaccelerated theonly composite craft rule.
They put the ability to color armor in as a quick-fix to a bug that removed the colorization on certain pieces of composite armor. The change was so popular they left it in. I imagine one day they will change this one day...either by removing it or adding a new colorization system for all armor when they get some more dev. time.
2. They make almost every armor buged exept good galaxy all wear composite. If you ask me it should be other way around.
Most armor is bugged?Just 3 types are bugged...hardly "most" of the armors. RIS is bugged, but is hard/expensive to make so many do not wear it. Tantel is bugged, but the level of protection offered due to low resists and the lack of full-body protection make this fairly unpopular. PSG's are bugged too, but due to the cost to make and the bugs they aren't worn by everyone (and even when they are worn you can't see it anyway).
Bone, mabari, chitin, ubese, and padded are not bugged. Ubese is a pretty popular and relatively cost-effective form of pve protection and while not as common as composite, is still a pretty regular sight. The rest fell by the wayside due to a lack of perceived value...some of it can be useful and some cannot (padded anyone?).
The ability to easily color composite anyway you want to isn't the reason it is worn so much. Most people who wear armor were walking around in composite before they put the ability to recolor in. The reason composite is worn so much is because it offers the best overall protection of any type of armor available in game. Why buythree types of armor when you can buy one that does it all at the higest level of protection possible? I am not saying this isgood or bad, but a simple fact that influences the majority of armor wearers.
3. Why the hell is paded armor more dificult to craft than composite? (more spec. materials)
No argument there. It is a pain in to make and for the high cost/difficulty to make, other than it being nice eye candy it offers inferior protection and slightly less encumbrance when compared to composite.
Can anyone explain this to me? Please.

yeah, I now it's about protection, just that I'm talking about factory runs. If it's the best armor, it should be the hardest to make.
I meant that productivity is messed up with factory runs of composite, it takes 10min for schematics for 200 or more chestplates (diferent colours). On the other side there are other armors that takes 1month for 200 or more chestplates (diferent colours). You see what am I getting ad? It's not all about protection tho. It's about saving time as armorsmith. noone want's to craft by hand that's why there is only comp everywhere.
I madebeter padded than some composit that I saw (crapy one) but still, 2 full suits took me whole day, i sold one for 150k. That guy who had comp on the vendor is selling whole suit for 130k and it took one day to make all schematics for 50 suits. Something is wrong here.
Now if you calculate you see that losy comp is much more profitable than good padded. And you can hunt while comp is crafting.
I just think that they forced armorsmiths to make composite armors becouse it takes practicaly no time to make. And there are many people who want's to have others as well.

I still disagree. People were mass producing compositearmor before the ability to recolor was put in. Hell, on my server your choice for composite was usually, black, black, black, or black. If you wanted anything in a different color you had to special order it. It certainly wasn't the color that made it a popular armor (most do not choose to color their armor black now), it was all about the performance.
10 minutes for 200 composite chest plates? Not counting the segments and any layers added, it takes 6 minutes for each piece of composite to be manufactured in a factory. That run of 200 would take 1200 minutes or 20 hours to complete that run. If I remember right, it takes around 90-120 seconds to make a piece of composite by hand. Using multiple tools it only takes me about 3 minutes to create a full suit. Using a factory is less tedious for sure, but it is definitely not faster than hand crafting. Admittedly it's been a while since I did a factory run of padded, but as I recall the manufacturing time to make piece of padded was pretty close to the time it takes to make a piece of composite. Whatever it is, the difference is definitely not so large that the 200 padded chest plates would take a monthunless you were doing 30 different colors and only changing out the schematic once a day.
Anyway, composite was popular before the ability to change colors and still is now. I don't really see a change in the number of suits being made now than before because most armorsmiths stuck to 1 or 2 color choices and made those in bulk.
