was wondering if you can add other layers to ubese and have decent resists in kinetic and energy and stun? is it even possible? it seems all the ubese sets i see are the high kinetic type. if its possible, what is your guess as to what the stats could be? thanks.

Ubese only has one Layer slot. Many people use it for kinetic since it already is a special protection and would not be affected by eff slices.
The low amount of the rest does not warrant it to use as a great PvP armor.

With great segments and maybe a 15% layer, you'd still only get the base up to maybe 40ish or so. Kinetic might be about the same. Just a guess though.

Not really since using another layer will only raise that into special protection and not the whole base.
if you want a high base you need to add a segment enchancer and make a kinetic layer with 4% base and an eff slice.

hmmmm. so i guess my next questions is:
what alternative to compositeis out there for pvp? im not expecting insanely high resists similar to it. but something that is comparable based on the lower ham and encumbrance of the other types. i guess it just boils down to the fact that i just loathe composite.

Uhhh... ok yeah... what the hell was I thinking? Ignore my post as it has no basis in reality. I swear I'm not a noob.

Well, you just walked yourself right into the Pandora's Box of Armorsmithing, shut the door behind you, locked it, and ate the key. Thanks for playing the game.
This is our delimna. You could probably work the base on Ubese up to aboutlow 30's, which would be ok for a light PvP suit. but that would involve a high base layer, and would leave your kinetic in the 30's or 40'sprobably. With a good slice, you could possibly (prey) get a 40% suit across the board. But I can get that with unlayered/unslicedcomposite, and with less vunerabilities.
Thinking about using Padded? don't even try it. My 40's%, 2 layered suit has HAMin the 500-600 per stat range. At that range, I might as well use unlayered composite, with as good a resists, and less vunerabilities.
Tantel and below are hopeless as alternatives.
It is in fact, a composite world my friend.

Look for some imperial prototype PSGs. Get some synthsteak (food). These are both zero encumbrance protections.

I tried it. Made some padded boots with a heat and acid layer. Resists are: heat 5%, acid 5%, blast 17%, rest (except stun) 51%. HAM 54/81/57. With a good effectiveness slice you can get the base resists up in the 60s. Ttoal HAM for a suit will probably be in the 600-700 range. Well, at least it looks good.
