I'm also interested in that.
What I'm looking for is high kinetic, high energy, low HAM cost.
Was fed up with compo HAM cost, bought an ubrese jacket and the only padded armor leggins I could find :
They were about 39% base, 50% after a nice slice.
I would be very interested in informations on how to make improved version of those.
Can they be layered for stun/energy or kinetic?
What loot schematics or items should I look for and where?

Padded only accepts 2 layers, any layer can be used, but since the baseresistance is lower to start with than with composite you will need heavier layers to reach the same potential and in the end you start to climb to or over composite levels in the HAM department.

39% base is actually considered decent for padded, atleast if unlayered. Doublelayer it and you can get around 4-10% more base (depending on layer) along with what the layers also drag along into special. With better resources you can be looking at a base % in the high 40's unlayered, might want to keep an eye on the smith that produced the pants you found in case better resources shift in.

All armourenhancers can be used in padded, so no restrictions there. Also accepts Nightsister layers for added base without extra encumbrance. What you'll be looking for is probably janta hide (+base), rancor hide (+base, heat and cold), voritor scales (energy and kinetic)
For enhancers which replace the crafted segment there are very few that are of great use. Ackley hide may give you a decent base and some extra energy on top, along with great condition. Ackley hide can be found on the Ackley at the bottom of the Genosian Lab on Yavin. Rancor padded segments if of very good quality also work rather well. If the segment says for instance 20% you will often be looking at a base % on the final combine at around the mid to high 40's. There are also some less used ones, and less found ones because of what people hunt, like Fambaa segments. (adds to cold)

All layers can be used, no restrictions apart from that it only accepts 2 of them. (composite can take 3).
Whew, that was alot of blockquotes. Hope that answered most of your questions.

I think yes.
If I understand right, what I'm looking for are mainly :
- voritor scales
- nighsister layer
- kinetic layer.
- energy layer.
As I said, I want kinetic/energy. Everything else is not interesting for what I want.
Do you think it's doable with padded armor to have legging that have at least 60% on kinetic and energy and have lower HAM cost than Compo?
And an Helmet with those resist and less than 200 mind cost?
And what are those interwoven stuff?

Hi guys, i am currently in the market for a good suit/ great suit of padded armour. I am sick of just wearin comp or ubese and want something different, but i still want it to be usable. I have looked around in this forum but have not seen any definitive answers to my questions.
What kind of resists can i expect from a good suit of padded armour?
How much would it cost?
If needed, i can get the basic materials(bone, hide, minerals), so would you lower the costs?
Am i wasting my time because you cant make good padded?
Should i wait till after the combat balance?
I am on BLOODFIN server, so you AS's on bloodfin, let me know.
Please reply here, or send me an ingame mail to Reise Urnwi
Thanks

its possible the ingredients need to be superb though and the layering needs to be 4% with low HAM... problem is the layering for advanced that would possible has been hard to get above 600.. Cubirian steel..
