Ok, to start with, this is more in the vein of humour and flights of fancy rather than real planning, but I was looking at my AS/WS and thinking the SW is kind of a waste now. So I started to play with the character generator and realised this works, and could be really fun:

MAS, 0002 Merchant, 4044 Artisan, the 24 FS boxes dedicated to the 4 crafting lines and some in combat defences, and MLS.

Let me just say, this wouldn't be to be a PvPer, or even a PvEer, I just always like having some combat to check harvesters and factories and this template could be a blast to play. Once template is done, I wouldn't have to worry about visability as XP loss is inconsequential, and there isn't anything this side of Dathomir that could kill you when buffed and on food (one on one PvE I mean).

Just tossing it out here, there may already be one, but if not, it could be a fun template to work towards... over the next year.

Not that it could be done easially, but Master Force Powers would make for a cooler light show than master light saber. The animal scare power alone can be very useful when harvesting.

Not a bad idea.

A good question is what is the best combat template to use unbuffed? I always go to my factories unbuffed and have to kill nuisance stuff (tuskens being about the worst I run into). Master Fencer might be the best unbuffed fighter, or TKM...

I dropped AS with this toon when an alt got master but......I was master pike and MAS. With the pikes and tapes (and decay kits now) to trash the hell out of you MLS toon

Furia, I think, has understood me best here. This isn't really to be an uber unbuffed fighter (though I'll admit my title hints at that), but to have a fighting template that is fairly effective, but a lot of fun.

I thought of Powers, but getting powers xp without at least 0404 LS or some similar combination is next to impossible.

Pikeman, Fencer, TKMand Swords are a blast, and I have templates with 2 of these on alts, but I don't want HAM cost issues. And most of my threats on Tatooine where I have most of my harvs and factories are Tuskans and the Dune idiots, both of these are ranged primarily so MLS is better protection, and fun as hell.

My other concern with regular (especially melee professions) is the CURB, which I "feel" will nerf melee a fair bit, and make ranged more of a threat and useful.

Anyways, I've actually gotten myself worked up with the idea, and have done some calculations for grinding the FS (6 professions on Asiago before patch 9, but no unlocks) and I think I'll follow through on the idea. But don't expect to see me as a MAS/MLS before next year, I still have 3 lines of jedi xp to finish on my original pre-patch 9 jedi to get him to template.

Commando, single shot of Flame Single 2 can easily hit for 10k damage,

MLS is the best idea for a PvE fighting profession for your alt. You should be speed capped and able to do massive damage to anything and it gives the best defenses out of the entire set of Jedi skills. That and it's cool lol.

MLS has next to no ham costs, however your going to be very limited on force costs unless you work channel into the template somehow. Also keep in mind that you are not set up for any healing either.
