Has anyone on the converted servers run a test with both good and bad resources to see how big a difference the resources can make. I'm getting a feeling that the quality of resources used matter less now than they did.

I'm on a wild guess here. But I would assume same requirements as Shipwright has.

As a shipwright, the resource quality is present. But not crucial.

well the higher in armor rating you go, the less actual benifit you recieve from going higher, as we have a curve of diminishing returns upon us. This means that spending millions for new uber resources might only get you in reality an increase of a tiny percent when making high end armor, however low end armor you might see a higher increase.

However I imgaine the market for low end armor will be tiny since once you master you can negate all encumberances fairly easily.

I experimented on TC making Basic, Standard and Advanced Battle Cores using identical resources in each (i.e. altho the Basic ones only wanted 'Hide' and 'Fiberplast' I used the same type of Naboo Bristley and Corellian Fiberplast in both) and there was quite a difference.

Unlayered Basic Cores had 1565 protection, -15.2% Hinderance
Unlayered Standard Cores had 2925 protection, -21.3% Hinderance
Unlayered Advanced Cores had 4353 protection, -28.2% Hinderance

With only 10 exp points the only thing I didn't max was condition on the Segments (again proving that the Exp-ing is far too simple and 'easy') therefore it stands to reason the ONLY thing that will make a difference with crafting post-CU Armour is the standard of the resources.

Very useful information. But what happens if you now make the same components using crappy resources?
