im not to familiar with AS so i have come to ask for your opinions....recently a few other people and i on the kettemoor server all threw in a 30k resource reward for the best RIS resources that spawned on our server. So what im here to ask is should i get my 2 suits of RIS made now or after cu,the real question is will the resources used to make RIS now still be the same uber resources after cu or will they change. From what i heard is that you will be able to turn your RIS in for a schematic,so should i get it made now to ensure the resources would be the same?
Thanx in advance for your replies...

We should know more about this once the conversion test servers are up. Check back in a day or two.

I just converted my RIS on TC-Chilastra and for each piece I "Disassembled" I got an RIS Core for. The RIS Currently converts with I think 'Standard' Stats not Advanced stats like most other armor. I truly hope this changes.
I only had a chance to glance at my RIS before the server went down. Ill look again when it comes back up.

Has any one on a test server had a chance to craft RIS from scratch yet? Just wondering if the component requirements (GDK scales, Gurk King hides, etc) is staying the same, or increasing. Thanks.

My advice is not to buy ANY new armor 'till CU release.
Despite now RIS armor is now craftable and of the same class as a BONE armor with same top level defenses/encumbrances, may happens you could not be certified to wear your RIS armor because of your LEVEL/Template after CU respec.
I'm testing LEVEL 80 (that is top level) DOCTOR/SWORDMAN in TC-EP3 and I cannot wear a RIS armor (neither the BONE armor since is the same thing despite its look) because I'M NOT CERTIFIED.

To all,
I made it onto TC Chilastra for about an hour last night before I went CTD...again. But I did have a chance to closely review all my personal stock of RIS suits and all armors on my vendors. The results did not look to bad actually.
To ease everyone's mind a little, the armor conversion process seems pretty faithful to maintaining the relative resists and protections of the various armor types as they are now.
These are some general protect ranges from the conversion process for various armor types for your reference:
- Mabari: 20s to 40s resits>2000s (-3 to -7% hindrances)
- Tantel: 20-22% base resists > 1800-2100s (-6-8% hindrances)
- Ubese: 78% kinetic/25% base > 2300-2400 (-10-15% hindrances)
- Padded: 72% kinetic/44% bases > 3000 (-18% hindrances)
- Comp: 80/80/72% base kinetic comp > 5400-5500s ! (-30-40s hindrances)
- Interwoven RIS: 80s-90% resists > 5100s(-34% hindrance)
- Regular RIS: 80% kinetic/66% base > 4200-4600s (-10 to -15% hindrances)
Note: I still have to check my wookie or ithorian armor stocks but i presume they were converted similar to the other armor types.
Please note that AA acc/speed mods carried over fine as well. Also, ALL armor was converted automatically. In addition, without encumberances some of my RIS actually converted over with lower hindrances than the encumberances were, allowing me to be able to wear all of my armor unsliced and unbuffed.
My BH armor suit could not be worn and had no stats...Interestingly, each BH piece description stated that the BH piece was a 'subcomponent'for mandolorian armor construction. From this, it does not appear that BH armor suits can be worn post-CU. I will try and do more testing of the BH suit when I get home from work, and assuming TC Chilastra is still up.
All in all, and irrespective of other issues the AS community has, the armor conversion SEEMS to be relatively accurate and working as designed.
