---> Yes [at least it feels like it]
Basically: It's easier to run around and hit things, than to craft and sell the items efficiently. More kids will play hit-monster-games, than trying to learn economy or figure out complex crafting. More kids = more playerbase = more money.
Easier game = wider masses of people that play = more money.
What about those that are happy having found a game that suits both fighters and crafters? More than just the usual WoW/FF11/etc. concept? Well. Tough luck for us.
come on now...only one word answers in this thread! "Yes" is all that

**********************WARNING LONG POST HEAR, TURN BACK NOW************************
The crafting aspect of this game is what makes it unique, it's what draws people in or even back. No other game can you go and get your stuff named what you like, colored the color you want.. a few games have a small aspect of this, but very small. This game has multiple aspects that allow a player to play and not fight. If SOE get's rid of the non combat classes, it looses probably 40% of it's player base. I have a Jedi but what I enjoy most about this game is crafting, and there are alot of players that are like that. Kill crafting and I have no reason to play, and alot of crafters will be the same. I know dozens of crafters that have multiple accounts, once those players are gone, the game starts to loose other players. Why is there now a reason for rangers and scouts, so once they leave, medics can no longer get as many creature resources, so they stop healing, so now you have another chunk of players. That leavesa very small portion of players left, the pure fighters... well now the pure fighters have nothing to make this game stand out, the PvE'ers no longer have the rich crafters to sell thier loot too, so now the PvE'ers have nothing to do and no real way to make money, so they quit.
So now all we have left are the PvP'ers... but that get's old after awhile expecially on these buggy servers, so they look to go PvE, but there's no one to sell their loot to... so now they leave, Game over.
