In Starwars very few characters wear armor and for those that do it doesn't work very well(stormtrooper dieing in one shot is one example).

In a way armor damaged the game.

  • too many people look the same.

  • soloing is way to easy. No one groups anymore.

  • CM are too poweful because poison damage goes through armor resists.

  • Fencers are somewhat too poweful because few armors protect from stun.

  • TK's are too weak because most armor protect from kinetic.

To fix this armor it should work like clothes.

  • This is very easy to balance freeing up dev time.

  • People can wear what they please with worrying if they're competitive or not. More cooler, originallookingPC's will be seen.(better for immersion and rp)

  • More people will be willing to wear faction armor for rp and immersion reasons. Faction armor will eventually be made by you guys.

  • Aliens wont be too disadvantaged by not being able to wear all armor parts.

  • To make rare armors like Mando worth while they would have built in skill mods and more skill slots.

  • make skill mods drop more often.

I by no means want to make armorsmith less useful. So this is where psg's come in.

  • Make psg's work all the time.

  • They're stat arent overpowered. Making balancing easy.

  • They dont affect character apearance.

  • However they wear out quickly to remedy that psg batteries would be a new item for armorsmiths to make. More money for you guys since you will be sell lots of these

This is the best way to balance things out with out hurting your prof too much in my opinion. I look forward to your comment and ideas. <puts up his flame resistant psg>

Nice post, tho i think your ideas are a bit extreme... anyhoo armor was meant to be rebalanced in the "combat rebalance".

Which has been delayed for a year...

Interesting points but believe it or not there ARE armorsmiths that arn't in it for teh credits. Many of us like the challenge in making the BEST armor we can. I

believe the armorsmithing community at large would be opposed to the changes you propose mainly due to unnecesary removal of some of the little things many of us like. I personally like experimenting with armor MUCH more than selling or making crates and crates of it.

If the Devs follow through with the proposed changes to doctor buffs ( max value = 200% of the stat ) armorsmiths are going to have to change their current train of thought anyway.

It wont bring about changes as drastic as what you listed, but it will send people looking for extremely light armor.

All those 5-10 million credit PvP comp suits will be reduced to house decoration.

Soon, I discovered, that this force thing was true,
Exar Kun was the devil,
Vader was an architect previous to his career as a Sith,
All of a sudden I found myself in love with the Empire,
So there was only one thing that I could do,
Was, ding-a-ding dang my dang-a-long ling long
