Thread: RIS components with no serial numbers?

Hey,
I finally got myself a GDK scale and was psyched to go do the RIS quest. I had no problem making the RIS segment, with the Gurk hide and Wollamander bone. I go to make the RIS layer, and the Peko feather I have in my inventory isn't showing up in the usable items slot during the crafting stage. I look a little closer and the Peko feather does not have a serial number on it. "Odd" I think to myself, then "damn", since I have to hike it back to Theed to get another Peko feather. I get back to my house and low and behold, the 16 other feathers I have are ALL missing serial numbers, not to mention 2 gurk hides that I kept in my bank. So I'm pretty PO'd, since I can't finish the quest 
I seem to recall someone else posting about this topic on these forums, but I couldn't find the thread. I did put in a CSR ticket, but all they sent back was that SOE is aware of the issue and that they are working to take care of it. Nothing about any impending conversion of serial-numberless items, nothing about swapping items, nothing about reimbursment of any form (Thank God my GDK scale has a #).
Has anyone else run into this problem? Has anyone heard of any pending solutions? Any timeframes as to when we can expect some movement with this issue? I know this bug isn't going to break the game, hence, probably not a serious issuefor SOE right now, but any info from the AS community here would be greatly appreicated. Thanks.

Just know your not the only one lol, its not exactly the same thing, but when i was going to get my berserker rifle made, i found out that the stupid barrel doesnt have a serial rendering it useless, i sent in a ticket with what sounds as the same info, reimbursment, replacement, ect. So we are kinda screwed atm, and looking at how fast they are with fixing stuff, we will probably have to wait for a wile, maybe 1 or 2 publishes if we are lucky.

I saw a couple posts about this last week also. One guy had this problem with Gurk Hides, an said that he put them on his vendor then pulled them off and they had serials. Not sure it this actually works or not, and I'm not trying to start rumors but worth a shot if it saves you from having 16 useless feathers.

Cool, I'll try the vendor trick and post back with what I find. I might leave some on a vendor for the server restart, to see if that has anything to do with it.

Darn, the vendor trick didn't work for me. I left 2 Peko feathers on my vendor overnight, past the server restart and nothing happened to them

Same thing here. I have 12 Gurk King Hides with no serial numbers. I can't use them.
Why can't they just trade us for new ones? Whats the big **edit**in deal?

Well, the ticket I sent in to the CSRswas replied to. They basically said they are aware of the bug and that they hope to have serial numbers on these items soon, and not to discard them.

Yeah this stinks. All my early looted stuff does not work in schems based on non-serial number.
This crap needs to be fixed.
