Greetings all Armorsmiths.

I'm a somewhat new Master AS on intrepid. I've been smithing armor for about a month and a half now I suppose. I've finally gotten the hang of a few things and have haorded some semi-decent materials as well as a wealth of acklay, rancor, krayt, NS and other such components. I have some basic questions.

My number 1 question is my use of acklay and rancor segments in padded armor belts. The acklay segs produce some decent base 20-25% for 0 encumberance. This is a good thing I suppose, but which areas of the body, exactly, does this percentage help boost? Do they work like a PSG and provide an extra external layer of protection? The Rancor seg powered belts tack up to 30% or more base, and have less than 20 encumberance cost. If these work like PSGs, there might be a market for them because they last twice as long as even the imperial PSGs.

Next question has to do with the imperial PSGs. I had a very close friend (who is going to be the recipient of my first RIS helm) donate two 5 use schematics for Imperial Prototype PSGs. I burned most of the first schem figuring out how to get over 40% base on these things. I have now a recipe that puts me at 43% Base and 28% energy and 2700 condition every time. I've seen some of these PSGs with up to 48% base, how do you guys do that!? Does it take +20 Assembly/+20 Experimentation to get this done? The rescources I'm using on my final combine are very good, and most of them came from that huge auction by TennTalbot a while back.

In an effort to get RIS certified, my guild and I went all out in the past two weeks. It started when a close friend helped me take a Giant Dune Kimo that I just spotted in passing. From that I looted 10 identical scales, next another friend camped Yavin for me and brought back two sets of 6 and 4, respectively, Woolymander Harrower Bone Fragments. I tracked down a Giant Pecko Pecko Albatross and called for backup, after it respawned twice I had a set 8 identical and 6 identical feathers. I have not found any identical gurk king hide pieces, but then, I have not hunted down a King that looted. These identical sets of RIS items are a bug right? Or were they perhaps put into the game to make the Interwoven schematic more viable? I mean, if I have identical components, canI use the Interwoven schematic to churn out a set of 6 segments with one use? This will work if and only if Gurk Kings are also dropping identical loots..Are they?

Though it might sound like this last question is a joke.......Do any established Armorsmiths have a small quantity, like 5 or 10K of Chanlon Intrusive Ore they could sell so that I may be able to get my RIS certification, and make some appreciation helms for the guildmates who helped me get this far.
