Thread: A few Questions about armor, Please help me out.

Hey, i need to know a few things about armor. 1) If i want to hunt mainly creatures and NPC's, what kind of armor should i look into? I don't want to do any PvP, so would kinetic probably be the best stat to look for, and if so, is ubese or composite a better choice. 2) I don't really have any good combat skills, only like pistols 3, but can i still hunt hard creatures and NPC's if i have really good armor and buffs? I want armor that will make me pretty protected, so i can just ship away at whatever i;m hunting until it's dead. Is this possible? Also, how much does the kind of armor i want cost? Great thanks to anyone with any input

1) The choice between Ubese and Composite will come substantially down to exactly what you're planning on hunting. But, much as I hate to say it, Composite is most likely going to be your best bet for general purpose protection. In terms of resists, you'll most likely want to boost kinetic as high as possible - but I would also recommend having a token stun-layer put into it, just in case that little NPC pulls out a stun baton

2) With only pistols, you won't be able to hunt the really high-end stuff (read larger NS's, Krayts etc.) simply because your buffs will run out long before you make even a minor scratch on them. But for the mid-range stuff (NS outcasts and the like) you could probably get away with having some 90% base (eff sliced) composite, as long as there's not more than one aggro'd on you at any given time.

Face it, until the combat revamp occurs, composite seems like it's the only armor that will protect against everything. I'm surprised that stuff isn't a dime a dozen considering how many ppl you see walking around with the stuff...Just watch for encumberances on compy if you don't wanna require buffs to wear it.
