Yep, we've all kind of figured it, and those of us who have been playing test centre have noticed it if not really understtod it, but there has now been testing done. Because of the level system that is the core of combat in the CU, all combat will be based on levels and armour will make almost no difference. So I say Yippee!! I can cancel my AS toon or re-roll him for all combat and stop complaining that they have totally $crewed the pooch on AS in CU.
Thanks SOE, I was really worried that the crafting aspect of the game I enjoyed so much was being taken away, now I get the comfort that it wouldn't have mattered anyway and I can just move on...

You know, I've really tried to be optimistic about this whole thing. But the Devs are making it harder and harder with all the stupid decisions they seem to like making.

Hmmm i was worried about this and it sorta confirms my fears so what are we then glorified tailors that produce overpriced designer clothes?

That's basically it. Armor is mainly used for high end PvE and PvP. Plus they eliminated a ton of users by not letting crafter wear armor and non elite professions.

Why dont they just do it the EQ2 way and setup NPC merchant to issue armor and weapons with set stats? I'm trying my best to be optomistic but they make it really hard.

Hmmm i think its a sad day for our profession then. No point complaining about lack of experimentation, high organics requirment when what we make is no longer an issue for determining the outcome of an encounter. I think its time for me to get hold of +20 weapons experimentation suit. Seems weaponsmith is the only crafting profession left with any creativity and requirment left in the game.
