Thread: Personally, what I think we need is someone experienced in R & T

I do believe it's a little too late for a Corr, but if there were a few more weeks and not two or so, a good R & T person would be perfect for the position. Someone removed from the actual tasks, but able to take information from the users and not only create a set of testing metrics, but be able to apply the gathered information to the metrics as well.

Oak was great.... it's a shame what happened, but I think we need to face the fact that the CU is coming, AS has changed and most likely, the things we are concerned about won't be addressed until after the effects are seen.

My advice, would be for someone who has experience as a RL tester (not game beta tester) to come forward and put their name in the hat for AFTER the CU goes live to help clean up the mess.

Let's put our heads together, REALLY focus on developing a set of metrics, construct some test cases, and be prepared to present them. Get off the negativity and let's start the hard work before the tough fight.

If anyone really wants to do this, send me a PM and let's see if we can save this line of crafting.

Well, that is definitely one possibility.

Of course one would presuppose that that activity had already been done as part of the development process. I'm sure that there is a careful test plan that was faithfully developed and executed which carefully considered the increase of resource requirements, the decrease in resource availability due to the increased difficulty in killing larger critters, the changes to the requirements on resources.

This of course would be coupled with a careful analysis of what changes need to be made to upgrade existing items to keep them on par with the items that can be newly crafted. I'm sure that there is an extensive analysis of distributions currently and post CU of items, stats etc, showing that the distribution curve remains unchanged.

After all, I would expect nothing less for a system that has spent as long in development as the CU upgrade has.

Of course, I still believe in the Tooth Fairy and Good Will Towards all Men (and women).
