Thread: An idea for armor balancing....work in progress
One thing I think needs to be done is give each armors special protection the potential to reach 80% be it Mabari or Tantel. Sure it would take allof a masters experimentationpoints and the best resources but I think it should be possible. Also thinking the base adjustment bonus you can get through layers should be taken out. Here is an idea of what Ive been coming up with.
BUMP
I would at least like some discussion.
I'm not crying nerf armor, I'm crying make other armors useful.
THIS WONT WORK
no one will make ubese (acid protection) or padded (cold protection)
it will be chitlin and composite only, yes it is nice to mix up vulnerabilities, but you cant leave out stuff like ubese, maybe switch current padded and ubese or something like that
base % I can see them doing something like that.
Well I was thinking that since Composite would have a cold vulnerability then cold weapons would become a weapon of choice....but then you could have a padded suit to combat that. Also acid damage is fairly common place for the fact that pistols, carbines, rifles and commandos use it, so having ubese protect against acid (with reasonable overall protections) would be useful considering that no other unlayered armor would have it as a special protection. Maybe you could make padded have stun as a special protection and give ubese the cold protection?
What I think needs to be done is that every armor has a different special protection and all have the potential to hit 80% in that special protection. They also all have several vulnerabilities (maybe 3 each) and all different for each armor. You wouldn't have to change the bases because there is more ways to damage an opponent even if they have high resist armor, and they would have to use different armor types in different circumstances.
even with 3 vuln we would all still be wearing the same stuff, lets say composite had stun, cold and acid vuln
every AS would add one stun layer, one cold layer and one acid layer. My point is yes they need to change things, but even if they do AS will find out what works best and just focus on that.
if they make padded a desirable armor I porb still wont make it, and just specialize on ubese and composite. I have considered stopping my ubese and wookieproduction all together and just doing composite. We will figure out what people buy and just do that.
