Well thats the problem. Once it goes to 0 you can't repair it. Its just a bug in the display. You should repair it when its at about 15k-18k to get the best results.
If someone is trying to get it to work past 0 con, it is indeed an attempt at an exploit. It detracts from the AS economy and should not be something any AS should strive to do for their customers or themselves.
So to answer the question: YES, I believe even the devs would consider this a misuse of game mechanics as intended by the question.
This is what I was getting at. If you are repairing armor that has decayed to 0, and it goes to negative protection, and still works... I think its pretty obvious that that was not what was intended.
