When I repair armor that has hit 0 condition, the condition on my armor goes into the negative condition and will have stats like -699999.99% resists. People say its an exploit to wear broken armor like this because it prevents you from taking damage, is this true or not? Ive been accused of exploiting and would love an answer.

Only thing I've seen this on is shields. No clue. I've never equipped a busted one to see what damage it prevents, just always assumed it would be none.

It doesnt protect any damage, Im sure of it. And please edit your post so it doesnt say anything about how something else may contribute to it.

wow. not one single person has successfully answered this question.

The question was:

If your armour has NEGATIVE condition, will it still repel damage? and if it does, is it an exploit?

this is a yes or no answer.

I have personally repaired armour that has made it go negative i believe that it still repelled damage. I am not sure to what extent tho. i am going to repair some 0 condition armour tonight and test this out further.

Why are you repairing armor that has 0 condition anyways?

To make it work again...

My armor will be at 0/36423 condition and I repair and it goes negative, even if it says that I successfully repaired it

Well thats the problem. Once it goes to 0 you can't repair it. Its just a bug in the display. You should repair it when its at about 15k-18k to get the best results.

If someone is trying to get it to work past 0 con, it is indeed an attempt at an exploit. It detracts from the AS economy and should not be something any AS should strive to do for their customers or themselves.

So to answer the question: YES, I believe even the devs would consider this a misuse of game mechanics as intended by the question.

People have asked this before. I tell them it is a bug in the display andthe armor doesn't work. I have yet to find it to work after it has reached zero and been 'repaired'. I have had perfect repairs with only 1 point thou. Those are times to rejoice and brag, although it was just random number rolls.

This is what I was getting at. If you are repairing armor that has decayed to 0, and it goes to negative protection, and still works... I think its pretty obvious that that was not what was intended.
