Well, it was only a thought, but there are some good points here.
What about just doing it with the special armors, RIS, Crafted BH Armor, Mandalorian & the next one (will probably be Recon)?

RIS I would be ok with using any core, but I think BH and mando should stay as is.

I don't know, one of the Issues I have with BH armor is that it uses assault armor. For practical purposes and time a Bounty Hunter takes a mission, what they need is decent Recon or Energy Layered Primus, seeing as npc marks use energy weapons & lightsabers do energy as well.

Ya, I'm not too sure how they set up the armor types with the stats they did. Almost all assualt armor is sold with energy layers though... it's the only way I seem to sell any.

I get alot of complaints about this too and I think one of the reason is that if the Assault skins were recon, that is all people would ever wear. When I get people in game complaining about it I just tell them that Jango Fett's Mando was great when taking a punch (kinetic)from Obi-Wan on Kamino, but definately didn't do all that well against Mace's saber on Geonosis!

That's the best reason I've seen for it yet.

But that doesn't make sense in that it proves the point!!
The point being
Assault armor is no good vs. a LightSaber
The Recon cert and the Jedi run/cloak are primary reasons you see alot of BH take pistoleer xxx3

Yeah, but Jango was also certed for Recon (Pistols)! It was his fault for wearing the Mando in a fight with Jedi!

I like the fact that SOE actually made all of the skins usable for top level armor after the CU, now I don't often see an ocean of comp, but I wonder something.
I was thinking, what if they took it and set it up so that for all of the suits (except maybe the factional) You could choose which core types you wanted to use. Assault Mabari, Recon RIS, Battle BH armor, and so on...
What do you guys think?

Plus I think the devs want to you be able to know something about how to fight a person by the armor they are wearing.
