I did a search, and found one refence to this issue.

We need more than just kinetic attack.

We are have unarmed, kinetic, and one weapons, VKs, kinetic.

How about the creatures that have good kinetic resist? How are we going to be able to beat them?

We need something with acid, stun, heat or anything else than just kinetic damage..

What NPCs, if any, do heat/cold/acid damage? I know that factional npcs throw grenades occasionally (blast damage I assume) and even occasionally have LLCs. Of course geonosians are infamous for stun damage. I have the impression that 99% of ranged npc mobs are doing energy damage... does acid resist matter at all PvE? Cold?

Furia, Kavala, Xana, Tarantella (Xana's alt, before NGE), all cancelled.(3 accts total)

NPC's use EVERY damage type, but the main few you will come across are energy, acid, and heat. Stormtroopers use acid grenades on you, some use cold grenades like corsecs, some use sg cold rifles, so really you cant protect against EVERYTHING.On the corvette SBD's use blast damage.

Speaking about damage types... Post CU we now have weapons that deal out KINETIC and ENERGY type of damage.

Which type do you guys use when? By example, when hunting Pikets and Bols (creatures), do you chose kinetic OR energy OR do you just select your highest damage dealing weapon (whatever type of damage it deals is not important for you)?

And in pvp when you attack someone with Recon armor it's best to use kinetic damage, right? With Assault armor you should attack with energy. But against a jedi; do the robes offer any protection whatsoever? Does it matter what kind of damage you do against a jedi?

And against a NPC character?

Just thinking out loud and hoping for some knowledge to be shared...

(Sorry if this subject doesn't belong here under Game Guides; I just didn't know where else I could place it...

this is a good question. kinetic and energy seem to be the only two types now with the exception of elemental damage that some weapons have. Since most people are defending against energy now (due to lightsabers), kinetic is a good choice for pvp. Not sure about creatures but it seems like some creatures would be more resistant to one or the other but there is no way to tell...

Kinetic for PvP and Jedi - to bypass the personal shield generators.

Speaking as a mastor pistoleer, pretty much all pistoleers use a featherweight FWG5 for its high max damage cap and Kinetic damage. Bounty hunters who aren't pistoleers use a High Cap Scatter Pistol for its Kinetic.

When I'm grinding bols - I use whatever gun I want in a group. If I'm solo hunting - I use my highest max damage pistol. I only really care about kinetic vs. energy when I have to deal with PvP.
