I'll start this post with what I would like to see happen. (not that it will, but we Bounty Hunters can always hope)
I would like to see RIS, Interwoven RIS, and Mandalorian Armor all recieve lightsaber resists in the coming combat rebalance (whenever that may be)
I've finally collected all the nessessary peices for an armorsmith to create a full suit of interwoven RIS, and I've spent the last three months doing it. As a Bounty Hunter, hunting Jedi is my endgame. I don't want to play Jedi. I like being a Bounty Hunter. The effort I've put in with regards to collecting the nessessary peices for this suit has been monumental. I would argue*nearly* as much time and effort as attaining Jedi (This is debatable, I understand).
I think the time vs. reward currently offered for these suits is disparaging.
Interwoven RIS is rare, and even more rare is Madalorian. Becuase of this, these items should offer an exceptional advantage to the players, and customers, who have spent their game-time in attating them (like myself, and others out there). I think the exceptional advantage should be some level of lightsaber resists addedto these suits.
Regular RIS could offer its wearer 30% lightsaber resists
Interwoven RIS could offer its wearer 40-50% lightsaber resists
Mandalorian should offer it's wearer 60-65% lightsaber resists
I understand these numbers are arbitrary, but they are just a starting point into this conversation.
I think that most of the Jedi population may be resistant to this idea (I could be wrong though) but this post is not about you, theJedi,it's about us, the Bounty Hunters, and what types of rewards can be offered us when we pursue large and highly involved in-game quests.
What has traditionally made Bounty Hunters competative with Jedi, in the Star Wars lore, has been the Bounty Hunter's use of his or her equipment. Equipment has always leveled the playing field with those strong with the force, and those who hunted the force useres. Jedi have the abilty to rely on the force in their time of need. For Bounty Hunters, it is our weapons and armor.
I think you guys get what I'm trying to say here:
High end armor should come with high end advantages, namley, lightsaber resists.
Agree? Disagree?
Why?

I agree, but I have one more stipulation to add.
Those armors have been called "Legendary" or "epic" armors by the devs. To me, Armor is NOT epic if it can be trashed in a week, even if it averages half a year to get.
My stipulation is to make it so that there are "special" npc armorsmiths that you can take this specialized armor to, and have them repair it, with VERY LITTLE loss of condition. An armor that takes so long to get should last a great while.
That is pretty much the only thing I have to add.

I totaly Agree that it shoud have LS resist both RIS and Maladalorian....
bucause the maldalorian suit is useless like it is now
RIS wel I use it to kill woolamanders for my next suit dont need a buff for it
otherwise wel its 46k condtion and PvE is it trass in a few days PvP wel good PvP's now the weakspots .... and acid is that
So to get some action in this armor to use it other than show some thing on it has to be changed

I agree completly and I Also agree with the repair Idea. RIS needs to be able to last a long time, 'cause right now it's best use is as a display case armor.
I made my first set just last week and the new owner only wears it to special events and ocasions, that don't involve any combat. The rest of the time he leaves it locked up in his house in what he calls his armor shrine.

I think i put something similar in the thread tiggs started about what we want to see in the future for armorcrafting. RIS and Mandalorian are inferior to composite at the moment, and this is unacceptable given the tremendous effort it takes to make either. I thought RIS was advertised as an armor for melee specialists to square off against jedi in - hence the kin resist special since lightsabers used to do kin damage. RIS was also touted by the developers as invulnerable, but they added the arbitrary stun and acid vulnerabilities in stead of dealing with the armor resist shifting issue (oddly enough, this seems to have been solved in tantel). I'd personally like to see RIS have LS as the special and every other resist in the base. I'd like to see mandalorian be invulnerable as well, but with LS in the base (and hence slicable).
Your suggestion about an NPC epic armor repair smith is just great, it is sad that these armors only have 25% more condition than a run of the mill composite.
If there can be 1000 jedi in a time period when there was supposed to be 5 or 6, there can be a few bounty hunters capable of defeating them thanks to superior equipment; especially if this equipment takes months upon months to obtain.
