Hoping someone can help me with a somewhat daft question.
I have been a Master Armoursmith on Chimaerafor around 2 months now and am still in the process of gathering resources for composite and RIS (fun fun fun). I have noticed a lot of people citing themselves as 12 point Master Armoursmiths and wondered what that was. My understanding (from my own surmising) is that this is an Armoursmith with an additional 2 experimentation points? Is this correct?
I recently picked up an Armour experimentation +1 skill tape which I have dumped on my rather fetching sunscreen hat along with armour assembly +1 tape. My understanding was that I would then gain an additional experimentation point from this skill tape when wearing my hat.
However this is not the case and I sitll have the 10 points every MAS gets.
Please can you help me out here:
1) What is a 12 point MAS?
2) How do I get there?
3) Why isn't my skill tape seemingly working - or is it and I am just asking stupid questions.
Feel free to flame me for asking silly questions - but nonetheless - I am still none the wiser. I am sticking with Armoursmith now as I fully enjoy the challenge of pulling out the best armour I can and will continue to strive towards that perfect suit. Understanding the answers to the above questions will help me out. I have read through lits of guides and forums and still am none the wiser - if I 've missed the answer to thgese questions anywhere - its not through not looking.
Help me out?

Hi mate
You guessed correctly, a 12 point smith is an AS with 12 Exp points.
The thing is, if you notice in your skill trees, you get +10's +15's and at master, +25 to experimentation. This means, that for every 10 Exp modifications you will get +1 Exp point. So effectively, to get to 12 point smith, you'd need to get 20 of your +1 CA's. So, as you see, your skilltape is actually working, but YOu will need to gather a combination of +9 more to actually see any difference
Hope this helps

Yes, you are correct in that a twelve point smith is one that has twelve experimentation points. However, you require ten points of armor experimentation skill to get another experimentation point. Check your skills and you'll notice you have 101(if you're wearing that hat
) skill points in armor experimentation.

Somehow I should have realised it would not be as easy as two tapes.
I knew it was a stupid question but many many thanks for the prompt response.

If your new to using tapes be carefull, they are very expensive and you wouldn't want to waste them, do not put another of either of those into your hat, it will delete the first one. I don't know all the querks tapes have but untill they fix them be very carefull.

Oh dear - I didn't know that - thanks for the tip.
This means its nigh on impossible to make 12 point armoursmith unless I have more than +1 exp skill tapes.
I have an outfit consisting of the following (all of which have four sockets each):
Hat (currently 2 sockets used with +1 armour exp and +1 Armour assembly)
Flex form shirt
Jacket
Belt
Crafters pants
Boots
Gloves
If what you say is true and I can only obtain +1 exp tapes I will never be able to make more than +7 armour exp in total? So I should be looking for skill tapes with more than +1 exp if I wish to make 12 point armoursmith?
Can I really not use more +1 armour exp skill tapes on my hat - even with the two remaining sockets spare?

Hi
As the previous poster had said, the whole tape issue is fairly bugged to my knowledge. In all honesty however, I have yet to actually get invovled with trying to obtain 12 point status...
It is true however, that you will more than likey need tapes with more thana +1 modification. The only downside with this however, is that any tapes above say +5 seem to go for a crazy amount of money...so once again, be careful with what you're doing mate
