Are you using these? I am thinking of getting one. Seems to be nice being able to do some crafting while out in wilderness (am a scout as well) and not having to go to the city.
How much do they normally cost?
Can you have more than station in one droid? Would lik to have both a Weapon/general crafting AND a Food/chem station at the same time.

Bermag,
It's GREAT to have a crafting station out in the field with you, and the Weapon/Droid/General Item crafting version is actually a low-level Droid Engineer item. The other crafting stations require a bit more expertise. Right now, droids are bugged such that only ONE crafting station per droid will work. I would recommend NOT purchasing a two-station droid today, because if and when the bug is corrected, there's an excellent chance that it will not apply retroactively to older droids. This happened when storage modules were fixed, and it seems likely to happen again.
As for cost, if you're willing to be seen with an MSE mouse droid instead of something fancier, it can be remarkably inexpensive, perhaps a couple of thousand credits.

One point to add ... you cannot call out your droid in the wilderness. So if it is not out already, you either need to head back to town or find someone's house you can sneak in to to call your droid.

you can call droids while in a camp, so you don't have to head back to town.

Honestly a probot is very much like any other droid right now, except that it's got a teeny bit of offensive capability and if you spend enough money on armor, it can survive a shot with not just a durni, but a CRAZED durni.
True combat droids are things of the past and of the future, I'm afraid. You're better off with a CL15 pet. I'm a DROID ENGINEER and I walk around with a pet.

Might get two droids then, one food (great when you run out of buffs/stims in the wild) and one general/weapon.
Hopw about the probots? Are they still useful?

I have an old R-3 droid with the crafting station modules. I was wondering how well those work compared to the stations, or how to tell what the rating of the module is?
Actually, I guess I don't really even know how the station rating even effects crafting. I just go for the one with the highest effectiveness rating, and hope it helps me make higher quality items. Am I correct in my superstition that higher rating = better results?

I use a R-3 droid for the same purpose...I can craft anywhere and it seems to work as well as any public (or private) crafting station...With the current simplified armor crafting system, I would recommend sticking with your crafting droid, for no other reason than convenience

Max rating is 15 (for a droid station) instead of 45 (for a private station)
I amnot really sure at all of this better check with your localdroid engineer (& architect perhaps)

I rememeber in the earlier days before Experimentation and Assembly Tapes became common place I used a Crafting Droid over a Private Station. I tested it and found that I got better assm and exp results with the droid. I don't know why this was and if it's been fixed. I've been away from crafting for a long time.
I was crafting Meds and Structures at that time.
