So I've got myself a Master Armorsmith (alt character) and Master Artisan, but I'm not sure how to go about making money. This toon's purpose is solely to make money and I'm not sure how to go about it. Questions like What do I need to make factory runs (on cores and segments) and how do other armorsmiths sell their products (via order or stocking suits). I've completed the RIS quest so can make this but I don't have the funds to make a suit due to the cost of GDK scales.

Any advice and help is much appreciated,

So Order only RIS, Factory Segments and Cores. How do factories work- do you need to load the components into them as well as a Man Schem?

factories use the schem and identical resources as u crafted schem with.. need power and money 2 run

i d0 3 batches of segs in2 one core schem.

gives about 90 suits.

ur gonna have 2 hand crafteverything at final stage else all u get is basic colours till a bug is fixed.

i suggest u pick a line of armour.. all styles.. stock it make some sales

get schems release as faction armour.

start another line stock it as above all styles.. add faction.

now if you can manage all 3 lines then go for the 3rd

Umm, I think you need to hit the Artisan forums to find out how to use a factory...

But anyway, don't count on RIS because orders for it will be very scarce unless you become established enough.

Just try making a few suits here and there, sell them, and restock what you sold.

Black armor seems to sellbest for me overall.

If you don't have the best resources, don't make too much because most probably you'll be upgrading your resources before your armor sells out.

You won't become rich overnight and itWILL take time to establish yourself.

Indeed. I've been an AS about eh.. I think 5 months or so now. And while I've managed to establish a decent rep. I'm hardly among the best out there. And generally speaking alot of my stuff still improves a tiny bit with every run as I get better and better resources. Got kicked back abit in the CU when suddenly armor started needing all sorts of things it didnt before but that should at least give you an idea of the timeframe it takes to 'make it' as an AS.

Fortunately for you being a 12 point doesnt really mean a whole hell of alot to an AS anymore unless your making PSGs. For everything but PSGs the extra 2 points are only good for adding to the max condition of armor, and reducing how many failures you get in assembly/experimentation etc.

With PSGs, the extra two points is quite handy for turning out high protection PSGs with decent regen, or decent protecton PSGs with very high regen rate. At least when it comes to making post CU imperial PSGs

I rarely make RIS unless the customer supplies the loot, so while I make some money on it, its not a ton.

I factory make my segments and cores and then hand craft the final step. I mainly do this because 1) I've been too busy with customers doing custom orders since the CU and 2 )I don't have near the amount of named hide needed for large factory runs of segments in a short time span. Doing custom orders has helped me stretch out my hide in inventory until a good spawn arises. I've pretty much always tried to harvest or get friends to harvest hides for me. Which means, I've never bought a lot of hides and therefore accumulated large stacks. However, with the way hide is harvested, now you can get a ton in a short period of time.

With the recent spawn of good Naboo Bristley, I will probably start some factory runs of battle armor once this factory bug is fixed. I will also use looted cores to put cheaper armor up on my vendors.

Great, thanks for the help- I think I'll make some Composite Suites and see how they go.

Thanks again,
