Hello all, I'm in the process of learning about being an armorsmith and crafting in general, never really has clicked for me too much but I'm slowly getting there lol. Anyways I was killing fambaas on Naboo the other day and looted these 2 standard battle cores and was wondering if they'd be useful or not, here are the stats on them both...

2837 protection vs all, -20.6% hindrance

3022 protection vs all, -22.1% hindrance

Now if I understand correctly I could use those instead of a player crafted core for making armor right? And I know some people will probably feel the need to just tell me to read the boards and the faqs but I have and am just wanting to restate in such a way to where if I get a yes or no answer at least this part of crafting will finally click in place, thanks.

A good armorsmith will make cores with 5000-5600 so those are not very good. Could be used for cheap display or newbie armor.

Actually an AS will make Advanced Armour Cores for 5000-5600. Those look like Standard Armour Cores on which a regular AS might get upto 3400 (so they are still poor by those standards) but thought you might want to know.

Indeed. Both in the thread title AND in the thread text he specified it was standard battle cores. So that's a bit hasty reply. On the matter of quality I cannot say anything, as I've only crafted advanced ones, and I've only crafted one batch of those.

On the same matter: Does standard / basic cores sell? I assume basic (or is it standard?) cored recons sell to BEs?

Thanks in advance.

So what if they are standard or advanced or what ever, he asked if they were usefull or not, I responded to that question. Just because they are standard they don't magicly becomes more usefull, if they had been advanced or basic with the same stats they would have been equaly usefull (or useless).

Thank you all for the replies. It helps a lot and it's nice to know there's a decent community among the armorsmiths, and believe me, I know I'll end up having more questions in the future too hehe.

I know it's not worth much, butit *might* come in handy now that respec is gone.

I actually had a CL 16 Novice Carbineer looking for some low penalty armor yesterday and those cores *might* work... I dunno how low the penalties will be, but I'm sure it'll be a lot less than and unlayered advance cores.
