Thread: Post-CU decay rates
I had a run in with a Knight, about a ten min battle. I check my armor after words and
I had lost between 3-5k condition on my armor!! Is this working as intended?
I mean, If I run ten missions, I need to buy a new suit of armor, regardless of if I win or not... That seems kinda borked to me. And that was just one-on-one fightin, not major pvp, for 10 minutes! I've been part of 3 hr battles in some base raids... I'm sure I could use a whole suit up in one night!
We have our correspondant pestering the devs regarding this. Old system for calculating decay is still in place, so for those familar with old composite durability the new (expensive!!) armors seem to grind away far to quickly.
I think they need to tweak the decay function or boost conditions 300-400%

Also, layers should add condition, right now they cost alot to make for little rewardMessage Edited by AndJusticeForAll on 06-05-2005 03:28 PM
Aha..
Thanks for the info!
I seemed to remember the old system was something like 10% of damage taken (not prevented by armor) hit as decay. Was it something like that?
More like that damage to armor condition was a function of how much damage got through the armor and then had a percentage applied to decay.
Well, since 7000 protection is about 52.5% or so, a lot more of that damage is getting through. 80-90% comp decayed more slowly because less was getting through.
