Alright guys... don't fry me for respecing into mas, my guild lost theirs to the cu. I need to know how you guys are making these crazy armor cores. I can't get my battle segments over 830. I'm nota 12 pt smith and need to know if its worth the millions of creds to be one. Some advice ladies and gentleman?

First off resources are the most important thing period. Look at what your servers best have been and shop around. It's going to be exepensive with everyone thinking AS's make billions of credits which isn't true because it takes us for ever to make the armor.
Next, resources yet again. Every time you keep going up from a segment to core to final piece the amount will be increased when it's finished crafting. Some times you'll get a display bug but when you pull the segment/core/final out of the factory it's stats will be a lot higher. 830 isn't bad. I was crafting 888's when I first came back. Doing 1100+ now.
As for if it's worth the millions to make armor versus the possible millions you could make? Really server dependent. In honest truth if ALL you ever do is make armor then yeah you'll make money easily I think. Otherwise, trying to play the game will take away from you crafting and laways being on the look out for the latest resources. Armor smithing is a hard profession because if you're not careful the millions you spend on resources could be a waste if you aren't watching the current spawns. Also, the big problem again is the resources. I know...resources resources resources. It's sad but they take up most of your armor smith time. You're either harvesting, checking, buying, or losing them in crafting processes. Back to the topic, getting the resources can be time consuming. You might take a week and half to get those resources you need. Remember you are only allowed 10 lots. 1 for the possible house to sell from and depending on your house, 8 more lots to use. Generally, when you're harvesting you'll notice 2 or 3 more spawns that come up with what you need. Normally, for people like me who are unguilded it's a problem. For you, who are, you can probably get your guild mates to harvest for free and make a lot more profit. Hides are annoying because they are so easy to get now but still cost a lot.
In my personal opinion, if your trying to make easy credits, become a chef. Otherwise be an armorsmith to make the best armor because lord knows you won't have any free time!

Sounds like good advice. I'm becoming an AS too. (Long way to go though). My philosophy is going to be much like my WS philosophy. It's just going to be a hobby. I like making my own stuff...I end up selling a little bit and walla! I make more money than I spend. This lets my combat guy have fun and the money tobuy things that I don't make. And since I'll be making some armor here and there....I'll buy even less stuff. You crafters that make full time businesses....welll, hat's off to you guys. I don't see how you do it. I love manking my own weapons and I'll love making my own armor, but refitting the entire server with gear??? Nope not me.
I guess my next goal after making master AS, will be to start making money towards buying CA's to become 12 pt WS and AS. Lord knows I've waster enough time trying to loot the stuff and I've yet to come up with a +1 WS exp. CA, let alone +17 I need to add to my bandoleer. That does raise a good question though. Is there an equivilent bandoleer for AS?

You are wise to keep your eye on the segs because segs will make or break your cores, thus your armor.
Concentrate on improving your segment resources for the near future.

My hats off to you esher. Thats all good advice that i will take to heart, but i think you missunderstand my last question. I would like to make really good armor for my guild, not money. But on that same thought I'm not made of money either. I guess a rewording is in order... Is it worth the millions upon millions of creds that it will take to get a +25exp +25assembly AS suit. Do the benifits outweigh the creds that i will spend on it? Thanks again.

I'd recommend buying your suit now, while the prices are low. Chances are that sometime in the future we will have multiple lines to experiment on again. And even if we don't, a suit will only set you back about 5-10mil right now, depending on your server. Check your galaxy trade forums and go for it.
