Thread: Question about enhancers/segments/cores (yes I read Thula's thread)
I am so sorry, I normally can find what I need in the FAQs, but I did not understand Thula's post.
It is very confusing to someone who is unfamiliar with armorsmithing. In short, no you will still need peko-peko feathers. You will only be able to add three of those +15's per suit (3*15 = 45) so you still need another five points. That being said, you wouldn't need the top of the line feathers as you only need five more points each, so you could probably buy some cheaper ones.
The other thing to be careful of is that alot of those enhancers will need to be identical to make the armor. That part can get confusing and it's best to sit down with the armorsmith in game that you want to craft it to find out if the ones you have will work.
I was also confused after reading his thread and my armorsmith hasn't been on lately. So to max out each piece....three seperate stacks of peko peko feathers totaling at least +50 correct?
For example, three seperate stacks of at leastsix feathers (+14, +16 and +20 =+50)would work for a six piece set of health enhanced recon armor?
Those sneaky albatross are fun to kill but oh so hard to find. ![]()

no.
peko feathers go into the final combine crafting stage when you basically take a crafted recon core component and add an armor skin such as ubese, mabari or tantel. You can use a single peko feather per armor piece.
Segment enhancers go into the segment which then goes into the core component. An advanced core can have three segments and so an advanced core can effectively stack 3 segment enhancers.
For recon the segment enhancers are nightsister shards and sharnaff plating. nightsister shards are the best recon segment enhancers. Pre CU ones have +15 stats. Post CU they drop anywhere between +5 and +15. Sharnaff plating is +4 to +8.
So to get +50 on a piece of recon armor you will need both segment enhancers and a peko feather because even with pre CU nightsister shards you will only reach 45 at the core stage and need another 5 at the final combine.
Boots and gloves cannot be enhanced.
There are no 6 piece recon suits of armor and anyway 6 x 50 = 300 and not 350 ![]()
Ubese is a 5 piece suit and so max is 50 x 5 =250, mabari is a 3 piece suit so max is 50 x 3 = 150.
Tantel or faction are 7 piece recon suits so these can provide 350 health in total
I personally though Thula's faq was very well written and described the armor crafting process very well and in an easy to understand way for non armorsmiths. He provided worked examples as well.

hmm, I think I need to revisit the section and see if I can write it clearer![]()
Its perfectly fine for armorsmiths, just non-armorsmiths may have some trouble understanding it.
