I play on Scylla server, and it just seems like good wookiee armor is so hard to come by, so I'm asking what's up with that. I'm no armorsmith and I know nothing about crafting, but why is it so easy to find composite armor with 80%+ to all stats, where as I can barly find wookiee armor that has 80% kinetic, much less that high on the base.
What is required to make good wookiee armor? Would if help if I went out and farmed it and brought it to a armorsmith?
Having stun is not my top priority at the moment, I just need the highest overall stats as possible.
Thanks for the input.

wook armor needs a lot of resources (someone else can dig up a list) and a lot of organics
tat wooly and lok leathery are the hide requirement and armor padding takes wooly and another type of hide. If you can get your local armosmith some good tat wooly, lok leathery and some other hides you will get him a good start on his path towards making wook armor, also dath leathery and dant animal bones are needed. (so 4 planet specific organics)
yavin and dath deciduous wood are some other not so abundant resources they need

Its the organics. To make Kashyyykian Hunting armor, you need Dath Leathery, Dant Avian Bones, Dant Animal bones, Lokian Leathery, Tat Leathery, and generic hides + wooly hides for the Armor Padding. Getting these in great quantity and average quality is darn near impossible.
Ive been told that I have some of the best Hunting armor on Chilastra (I dont shop around, just going by what my customers tell me,) and its either 80kin/ene 65base or 80kin/40stun 62base...so getting a suit that has 80% to all (save stun) just requires really nice/rare slices.

Its very difficult to make, uses a tailor component called Armor Padding, which uses a huge amount of wooly hide.
When ya add in the costs, most customers think we "rip" them off when they see the prices. So not too many people make it as more money could be made from composite.

As a Scylla armorsmith who tries to keep the wookiees happy, it's very tough to get the hides and bone you need for hunting armor (or black mountain for that matter) in large enough quantities to make large runs. You must either pay outrageous sums to get people to hunt (no thank you) or do it yourself (my choice), which takes time away from actually producing armor. Composite, on the other hand, only needs a relatively small amount of wooly hide. Harvesters can pull everything else out of the ground.
Here are the hide and bone requirements of one suit of hunting armor:
The eleven armor segments needed take a total fo 275 Dathomir leathery and 176 Dantooine avian bones.
The eighteen pieces of armor padding take 25-30 hides each for 450 hides (it's a mix of wooly and whatever else, I'm not a tailor so I don't remember precisely).
Then the armor requires 270 units of Lok leathery, 220 units of Tatooine wooly, and 40 Dantooine animal bones for seasoning.
So that comes to more than 1200 hides and more than 200 bones for each suit. Compare this to a MERE 210 units of any ol' wooly hide for a suit of composite, and there's little wonder you can't find much hunting armo.
I wouldn't mind the hide and bone requirements so much if it weren't so much easier for people to make money simply by running missions. If mission payouts were reduced, combat types would have more incentive to harvest their kills and sell the hides and bones thus actually participating in the economy. That would make more armor available at lower prices (theoretically). So my advice to wookiees is take matters into your own hands and supply armorsmiths with large stacks of hides and bone. A factory run of 1000 segments would eat up 27500 Dath leathery and 17600 avian bones. So I say get novice scout, buy a harvesting droid (I love those things), and start smacking rancors, gurks, banthas, and voritors lizards around.

One bad thing about the Wookiee armor is that nobody is willing to pay a reasonable price. I am a Wookiee on Naritus and also an armorsmith. My current suits are as follows:
Chestplate
Effectiveness 80% Kinetic/80% Energy/68% Base
Encumbrance [HAM] 356/190/402
Leggings
Effectiveness 80% Kinetic/80% Energy/68% Base
Encumbrance [HAM] 115/202/75
Right Bracer
Effectiveness 80% Kinetic/80% Energy/68% Base
Encumbrance [HAM] 73/73/75
Left Bracer
Effectiveness 80% Kinetic/80% Energy/68% Base
Encumbrance [HAM] 73/73/75
I posted a price check on my trade server and the high price came out as 400k. There is no way on earth I'm going to make these suits and sell them at 400k when I can sell the resources I used to make them or just make composite or padded and sell it for a ton more. I wanted to really focus on Kashyyykian armors because I remember the frustration of being a Wookiee back when we didn't have any armor to wear, but at the same time, things have to be priced in accordance with what it costs me to make them. Now that I have been an armorsmith for a few months I can make 80/80/71 composite suits for next to nothing but these things cost me a fortune!

I have posted on the Scylla Forums on your post, sent you a few tells. So I will try here. I have made a run of Wookie Hunting armor 39% stun/75% Kinetic/62% base and is on my vendor outside coronet @ 50 -5500. I also made some 80% kientic/67% base stuff i think, and should still be there.

Thats some very nice armor there. Best I can do is 80kin/ene 65base or 80kin/40stun 62base. I sell my kin/ene sets for 390k and my stun sets for 450k (exact same price as my composite). I could sell for more, I suppose, but Ive been a Wookiee since release, so I know what its been like to be without armor. Besides, there are only 4 pieces...so I feel it works out about even. I also harvest 95% of my own organics, so that is probably why Im willing to let it go so cheap...hehe.

I got these babys in stock
Wooky Hunting Armor suits price 400k (just stockt with 75 suits)
80% Kinetic 69% base (chest) 68% base (other pieces) Enc 617/534/623
I experiment on Condition rather then Enc
40500-41500 condtion on all pieces
Colors: Black/White/Blue/Yellow
Wooky Hunting Armor suits price 425k (just stockt with 30 suits)
39% Stun 73/72% Kinetic 65% base (chest) 64% base (other pieces) Enc 696/610/703
I experiment on Condition rather then Enc
40500-41500 condtion on all pieces
Colors: Black
The Organic materials cost me around 170k for one suit so there is still a 50% profit in it
used all my dantooine avian bones for it to make 180 normal suits and 80 stun suits Im selling around 2-3 suits a day so stock to last
I know 2 other stock on goot quaintity one is selling 70% base suits for 500k and another 66% base suits for 250k the last one is nuts I think told him that he is losing money but he didn't calculate it
I must tell investing good hide in the armor paddings gives a few % base extra

My current Hunting armor is up to 80 Kinetic, 80 Energy, and61 Base with just mediocre Tatooine Wooly hides. A full suit of any of my Hunting armor(even 39% Stun)sells for 200k. Even with all the resource requirements, I find it fairly easy to make a profit. I just don't pay 200 cpu for in-shift resources when I can get them for 5-30 cpu from Rangers who choose not to charge ridiculous prices
