Stormtrooper and Rebel Armor
Imperial or Rebel armorsmiths should be able to craft this armor.
It should be on par with some of the best... perhaps it should bethe best armor so that players wear this faction armor for GCW and PvP events (as opposed to role playing armor).
Imagine the following....
- You're defending a base and you see 40 players wearing Stromtrooper armor approaching the base?
- You're in the Starport and 15 players dressed as Stormtroopers arrive?
The only way that this might happen... the faction armor has to be the best in the game.
Developers: This armor (the artwork) already exists in the game.Make a schematic for the factioned armorsmith. Makethe armorcraftable such as advanced composite.
Also, Wookiees need a couple of great suits of PvP armor as well (high-protection to stun / kinetic / acid and nice protection to heat / energy / etc).

Pfft, screw Wookies. It's their own fault for choosing such a stupid race!

I completely agree...every word Including the stupid wookie race LOL!!!!
The game would benifit from seeing more players in faction armor....it would become more Star Wars like. i would rather wear my ST suit that Comp all the time but the stats are so low(only 30%)its no point wearing it. doesnt give enough protection.
Come on devs make it more like Star Wars and give us decent Faction armor!!!

Fantasic idea!
I don't know of anyone that likes seeing 99% of fighters running around in composite, the factional armor is all there to be used and it only gets used for display or by roleplaying guilds at the moment which is a real shame - not to mention nothing like Star Wars at all!
There should definetly still be some armor types that are better than factional, e.g.BH, RIS, Ubese could maintain a high kinetic so that it has a purpose still.
Maybe raise base protection of faction armor to 60% or thereabouts, so that there is still better armor around but make factionable a viable choice for fighters. Personally I think the idea of AS's crafting factional armor is a bad idea, as I like the way it's currently 'standard issue' from recruiters and you have to work for it.
As for comp, after 7 months of playing SWG and seeing nothing else I'm so sick of the sight of it and it's non-Star Wars nature I couldn't care less if it was removed from the game altogether.
If there's one thread/idea I'd love to stick under Dev's nose right now, it'd be this one.

How about this idea.
Instead of making the factional armor the best, set it so that when a person is covert, whatever armor they are wearing converts to ST or Marine armor. Maybe not feasible, but it would allow for people to keep their current armor and still get a better feel.

We been asking for this since Day 1.
Its a scientifically proven fact that the devs hate armorsmiths.

I have agreed with this sence launch. I would even agree with having us buy schematics to craft it with FP.

I think the Faction armor should be at LEAST on par with the best armor out there, otherwise what's the point of declaring yourself to wear in when you can just buy suit after suit of comp armor

I think you should HAVE to be wearing a suit of factional armour to declare yourself overt. Armoursmiths should be able to make factional armour and be able to trade it to players for faction points, which they then spend on buying new schematics. The same principles could be used with tailors for uniforms which should have some purpose aswell, perhaps the ability to show your rank as your title when wearing the correct uniform?...
Just my thoughts...
