Thread: How do you bag your armour? or how to avoid RSI

I've defenitely been starting to feel that my mouse hand is taking a beating from bagging armor all day long. I have about 300 suits to bag now and I could use some tips on how to do it easier. I've basically been using two methods so far. They're both based on having one crate of each piece in main inventory and crates of backpacks in the backpack:


  1. Pull out 25 bags. Rename the bags. Then pull one suit at a time (9 clicks on 9 crates), and move all the parts into a bag. Repeat until inventory is full, then sell. Repeat until all bags full and sold.

  2. Pull out 5 bags. Rename the bags. Pull five objects out of each crate, then move the pieces one step "upwards" into a bag, that way filling five bags at a time. Sell the suits. Repeat.

Isn't there any keyboard shortcuts or something that can be used? Or some other trick?

I make my bags pre-named to save on that part of the hassle.

If you pre-name them, they can't be colored, though. I like my bags to look different than single pieces. Looks good on the vendor, too.

Anyways, I have a crate of packs and a crate of each in my backpack. I sort by item type to put all the crates together, then I go "click, click, click" right down the line taking one item out of each. After my main inventory is full, I slide each item to the left filling the bags. (Actually, I load the second item to the right of the bag first, then while that one is lagging/transferring, I grab the first item to the right and load it. They end up in the bag about .5 seconds apart and it cuts down on the total lag/wait time.)

Also, I remapped my side mouse button to double-click, so I only have to click it once to take an item out of the crate. You could do the same w/ the middle mouse button if you don't have a side button, too. Or even a key on the keyboard.

I've heard some people use a 3rd party macro to do the repetitive loading, but that's against the TOS. =/

Pre-naming bags doesn't really work, as my base tends to shift by 1% or so. Anyone have any other tips?

copy paste is definatly something every crafter should have boundfor naming everything...


The way I di may seem a bit silly but....


I go 25 suits at a time, since that's how many are in a crate of suits and how many are in a crate of backpacks


I take out all the backpacks, name them


Then take out all the pieces from one crate, and put them into each bag


Then take out one from each remainingcrate to make a full bag, put on vendor


repeat until I have enough invetory room to completly take out next crate and put one into each bag


then put take out one piece at a time from each type until I have space to take all out from one bag


rinse and repeat until I can take all remaining pieces out and put the last batch into the vendor


Sounds complicated, but it works well for me and makes it go by a little quicker.

You can drag crates to your function key bar at the top there. Then a keystroke will remove one item if that helps.

Now that's the kind of tip I mean! Thanks!


My new method is now as follows:



  1. Pull 25 bags and name them (Copy name, paste, paste, paste, paste...)

  2. Put a full suit of crates in the toolbar in slots 2-x

  3. Put a macro calling 2-x in slot 1

  4. Press F1, fill a bag. Repeat until inventory full.

  5. Click sell and sell the full bags (Copy description, paste, paste, paste...)

This cuts the clicking down to half almost. I wonder if anything more can be macroed.. hmm.

I prename the bags. I bring out 5 at a time, and 5 of each piece of armor. From there, I put them up on the vendor. Wash, rinse, repeat. On some days, when I don't feel like placing all those sets up, I have this special ed kid down the street do it. He's pretty good at getting things right, and his payment....."ehhhh, I get to play da star wars game, ehhhhh!"
