Thread: Is this worth anything?

Hiya, I'm not an armorsmith so I figured I might as well ask the specialists. Tonight I looted 5 "Rancor Hide Exceptional" not great stats ( I think) so that's why I'm asking what it's worth.


Stats are btw:



  • Base Effectiveness: 3%

  • Integrity: 1200

  • Action Encumbrance: 1

  • Mind Encumbrance: 2

  • Heat effectiveness: 9%

  • Cold effectiveness: 8%

  • Description: This pile of Rancor Hides could be used to enhance the armor segment crafting process'

they actually do sound pretty good. especially since the HAM penalty is so low.

They sound like they MIGHT be layers - but hten again, I'm not an armorsmith.

heat/cold.. base is nice .. the ham adds to the armor tho ..


so you get a bonus to heat/cold


3% base bonus to all <I think thats how that works>


and an additional few points of ham per hide



All in all .. not much .. maybe 1k a each


but then I am cheap

i grabbed some sharnaff lairs the other night that were not specified for any armor type. when i went to craft to see what they did i could put them into any armor segment i could make... seeing how im not a mster yet i couldnt try composite but they worked for the rest

I've never seen them for sale so I was guessing they are a bit rare, anybody know what they're worth?

They fit in the same slot as krayt tissue.


They're not as good, but they're nice. Better than a hole in the head.

krayts start at +30 damage, -.3 speed and can go up to some really rediculous numbers (+200 damage, and the like).However all these looted components are rare, and therefore expensive, and will drive the price of a gun made with them up significantly.
