I was crafting some comp for myself today with janta hide and was getting some results different from what I have seen before. I noticed that if I got an amazing success at any point in the expirementation process on an attribute, that I could expirement to a higher percentage and value on the item. For example, on one of the segments, I put 7 points on the base, got a great success, then put 2 more on to max it out and got an amazing success which maxed me at 89% in stead of the usual 88%. I had a 34% base segment instead of the usual 33% base. I got some similar results crafting composite gloves where I was able to get 70% on some instead of the usual 69%. At first I thought it was because I had gotten the amazing success on the last expirement try for that attribute. Then I crafted a pair of composite boots and got the amazing on the first 7 points and only a great success on the lastpoint and was able to get to 89% expirementation and 70% Base on the armor.
I've been hand crafting armor with janta hide for awhile now and usually I just try to get some amazing successes in order to max on base with fewer points so I can get the encumberance down a little bit more. I've always maxed out the base with the same values using the resources I've got. Seems like this may be a change with the new JTL coding, I'm not sure. Curious if anybody else has noticed anything like this. I am pretty sure that all my assembly attempts were great. I haven't paid attention to it too much. I made about 8 pieces of armor today and I got 70% on half and 69% on the other half. None of these were chestplates either.

I'm thinking they got sneakier on the super tuesday crafting. They've re-added it, but with a twist....

i noticed something fishy with an enhanced run i did a few days ago - bases were either 70 or 71 on identical components from identical (i think) segments. Maybe some janta hides are actually +3.5 base but do not show it?

I guess that's a possibility, but I've made a lot of janta enhanced armor in the past and this is the first time I've noticed the difference. This is also the first time I've crafted any janta armor since the JTL stuff went through on Tuesday.
