Im assuming that these are used by armorsmiths here...but what would 4% scales go for and how often are they used??? How many would you need if used in a suit of armor??

You would need one for every segment used for bone (9 I believe), armorweave(5), and chitin. Composite, Padded and Ubese would require more, as most of the pieces require factory runs for the segments included (roughly 20-28 scales needed with at least 1 set of 5 for a chest plate and2 set of 4 for the helmet and pants).
That being said, I don't think they are used much as all the resists listed on the scale become special resists (and unaffected by slicing). Someone might use them on low level armor to remove most of thevulnerabilities that bypass armor.

I use the scales to bump ubese to 80%, and to take the energy vuln outta maberi. I pay no more than 5k per scale.

Yup made my suit of bone.... turned out 50% energy 20% electrical 4% all other res (except LS) and 180 HAM (After slice) 17k cond, hehe nice 700k display suit LOL
Used a 4/2 stun layer with 6/6/6 and a 4/2 electric layer with 1/1/1 and 4% krayt scales
