But why does it look like AS will not be crafting ship armor and WS will not be crafting ship weapons? Was I wrong in assuming that SOE was going to continue the model of collaboration that it buit SWG on top of? Darn I was seriously looking forward to crafting ship armor and working with shipwrights.

ugh

The shipwright class has no dependances on any other class. Needs massive amounts of resources, but nothing from other professions.

True hehe....

I guess maybe it would have been complicated since you'd have to be an AS with the JTL expansion to craft ship Armor. I still don't buy it.

I really don't like the fact that SW's don't have any dependancies on anything for components.

We are really getting shafted imo. Why we don't get anything to add to armor or shields is beyond me.

Bit disapointed by this as well I had lined up a weaponsmith to work with on ship crafting and am still a master armorsmith so i could make my own armor and shields.

Even had a few smugglers lined up on the wild hope they might get to effect ships. (From the movies smugglers slicing ships systems made alot more sence to me then slicing armor but what do I know)

If its any comfort to the other crafters the lack of needing other crafters is putting a huge burden on MSW right now. We have to do it all and dont even have a factor to make full parts with. As you might guess the demand for ships is very high now so MSW are in for sore wrists.

I agree Skala I tohught it would have been cool to craft ship shields and stuff.... although I am sure it would have been even more complicated that Personal Shields.

hey how does the resources/complexity of personal shields compare to ship shields?

can't put a droid in your ship unless you have components made by a DE right? but i guess that would mean pilots not only depend on SW but also DE...

The droid interface (the part the droid connects to) is made by shipwrights, but you need a DE for the droid. But the droid programs are borked atm and with the resource not exceptionaly atm it will be a bit before most people have to power to spare to bother with the droids.

The structure of crafted items completely screws over the economy. As more players spend time in space instead of on the ground, every other crafting profession besides DE and SW get the shaft. Players don't need as much armor, weapons, clothes, doctor buffs, food, etc. The amount of items they need to consume is greatly decreased. Playing JtL is far cheaper (in credits) than playing the ground game. How they call this an expansion I have no idea, since it's links to the original game are few and far between. Besides needing resources to make ships and sometimes healing after battles, JtL participants need nothing from the rest of the player community. JtL is a console game online. It perpetuates the loners will to have their own little game all themselves.
