I'm currently returning to SWG after 11 months off. I found my cute artisan still alive, even though he's only Master Artisan, Novice WS and Novice DE. (and some other professions, unrelated to crafting)
So, I decided to go AS, partially because my new place of residence needs one, mostly because it seems totally cool ![]()
Now, I need some advice. This forum is full of useful posts about how to make great armor, how to set up your business properly, etcetera, but what I *really* want to know, is how is it best to advance in Armorsmithing?
Things that're floating on the top of my shallow mind are:
- When respeccing, I have only enough for about 4 boxes in AS (both horizontal and vertical it seems, even though they have varying elite point costs (4-7?)), so rest of that I have to make manually
), so how should I proceed when working my way up the tree? (what technique to gain the rest of the points) - Is any of the armor before MAS sellable? Should I take on one line of skills first? (it eases advancement, or sellability of my armors, etcetera)
- What kind of resources should I stock? (Is there any place that has a list of resource-costs for schematics, so I can find out what I need?)
- Also, anyone know of a page that lists all resources in your galaxy (from the latest shift, player-gathered), I remeber seeing such a page when I played the previous time...
- And are there any other pages/tools I should have that'll be usefuk? (developing some PHP-thingie to manage harvs and generators atm. And sorry about asking for the urls, I havn't really checked for those yet, I just thought I could ask while I was at it here
)
Could be there already is a guide answering all this, but I can't say I've seen it, if so; Sorry.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Just to let you know, I think I found the resource-page I was looking for, SWGCraft (http://www.swgcraft.com/for those that don't know).
It seems this page has a lot of other useful info for a crafter too
(Like what resources the schematics require, and what schematics I can learn, etcetera)
Also, why does "Subscribe" on threads tell me "Your e-mail address has been reset, because the recipient of an e-mail at that address has requested that the e-mail address be removed from this system.", when changing it does not help (from the Station registration-info editing page, I couldn't find my email anywhere else), and viewing my profile tells me my email is "unverified", but I can't figure out how to verify it. (It *IS* valid, and it's not spamfiltered, so all email should've been delivered)

Hi there. How I trained up MAS was I went up appearances line first 3/x/x/x
From there I grinded ubese shirts for all of the other boxes. Since ubese shirts take no factory components and you only need 3 non-named resources so it is pretty easy to find cheap grinding resources.
As far as producing armor I have just started making armor after hitting MAS. The vendor search option on the bazaar is greatest tool known to man, I just turn it to entire galaxy and search for a type of resource (ex. leathery hide). Then I shrink the type of sale and location and expand the name bar so I can see the specific name of the resource. I find you can sift all the vendors in the galaxy fairly quickly this way not to mentioned unparalleled ability to comparison shop. Only took me about 22 hours to compile all the resources needed for my first 30 suits of recon.
Well hope this helps. I am not an extremely experienced armorsmith (going to start selling suits after factories finish subcomponents in about 2 days *sigh*). More experienced smiths might have some more ideas.
