Thread: Crafting loot enhanced armour how?

Ok, I'm still pretty new to AS. I was wondering how this is done. Let me use an example to frame my questions.

I want to craft battle armour, lets say padded. I have some krayt scales and janta hides I can use to enhance the armour with.

Padded has 9 pieces (not including belt). 4 arm pieces which take one core each. Helmet and leggings which take 2 identical cores each. Chest which takes 3 identical cores. And, the gloves and boots, no cores.

So I can put the krayt scales and janta hides into the segments. Then what?

Do I need to make sure the segments are all identical for a small factory run of coresto give just enough for the identical core parts? So for the chest, that needs 3 cores, I need 9 segments for the factory run of 3 identical cores. This means 9 loot enhancers, 10 if the schematic is included. So, in this case do the loot enhancers all need to be the same?

How about the health points stacking? In the case of the chest, would 9 loot enhancers stack? So, would 9 Krayt scales @ +10 health give a total of +90 health?

Thanks,

Ato

krayt scales will only go into assault armor, NS shards into Recon, etc... you need to do an examine on the loot enhancer you want to use and it will tell you what type of armor it goes into and what stage.

P.S. when making cores, the segments will pull out of a crate, so yes they need to be the same (except arm pieces which only take 1).

When making segments, you can put up to 4 different layers/loot piecesinto the segments. You need to remember tho, it takes 3 segments to make one core. So you need to take into account the lost loot piece for the schematic, three for 1 segment, soa total of 10 (9 +1 for the original schematic) for 3 cores, if the piece you're using takes 3 cores (chest for example).

enhancers do stack but health bonus is capped at +50 per piece

The total value (health bonus) of one core is your final bonus

but take into account that each core needs to be identical

so...

1 battle arm piece - one core - 3 segments - 3 enhancers (2 @+15, 1 @+20) = +50 health

1 Comp Chest - 3 id, cores - 9 segments - 9 enhancers (6 @+15, 3 @+20) = +50 health

Alright, for single-core items, you can use any three enhancers that work for that armor type, no need for them to have matching serials. For multicore items, you need to do a small run of cores like you supposed. Do not forget that you have to make a core schematic in addition to the segment schematic! Hard numbers are as follows:

#cores in item enhancer requirement

7 (mabari jacket) 3 sets of 9 matching items

5 (ubese jacket)3 sets of 7 matching items

3 (most chests) 1 set of 13 mathing items

1 set of 5 matching and 1 set of 11 matching

3 sets of 5 mathcing

et cetera

2 (legs/helms) 1 set of 10 matching

3 sets of 4 matching

et cetera

edit: the above chart is for the full-enhanced case where the core has 3 enhanced segments. Figuring out the numbers for 2x or 1x enhanced cores should be pretty easy using the above chart as a guide.
