So I poked the Devs again today about PSGs and Layer experimentation. Gonna try this a few issues at a time for now.

Poke them for some "hints" about this "Armor Core" Enhancments or the "Bio -Cartridge" McForgotToPutSchematicInGame Thingy.

Just tested it myself. Pre-CU peko feathers work now. They just don't have stats until you craft with them.

My guess right now is that both of those things will just be more +Health enhancers. I hope I'm wrong, but so far it looks like +Health is the only idea the devs have been able to come up with for enhancing armor post CU.

how much they got? and will it still count towards the +50 cap on pieces?

Mine were all +20. Have yet to use them in pieces but I will be come server up.

If they only had a panel of "knowledgeable" armorsmiths to ask questions to. Like someone you pay to play so you can make things better instead of leaving it to people who probably only know how to code and never played the game before. [IE programmers]
Heres some of my suggestions. I am a HUGE enhancer/custom build armorer. I love to have the suits that are uber/different from the norm. For instance my bothan runs around in full white composite+50 health each piece and tons of mods that i had been socketing for like a year and a half. Thanks to ADKi can finally wear it. It was 90% all stats with like 300/150/250 ham pre CU but i was afraid to destroy it 
Now, i think the number of enhancers currently in the armor now is lovely. We got 4 of them including the core enhancment. Thats great! But wheres the variety? I mean everything is +Health to one piece or another. Since i found the other armor appearance i had been thinking. I feel kinda shafted. i got 100x of things i can use to enhance a piece of armor, why not put condition on it, mods of sort, or even adds+ to a set of resistances? And why does Battle Armor get all the commonly used enhancers? I mean recon really got the shaft with only one good enhancer and assault got Rancor Hide that just doesnt drop ever now. We are also stuck with kimogila Scales (for assault) which suck to get. Recon really got the shaft badly though,hardly anyone kept the NS shards PRE CU because 90% of them were -10's rofl.
Heres some ideas.
Armor Core Enhancments: Adds reistances and describes as adding and extra protective layer to the core giving the core and almost inpenetratable coating to the corerating. Adds a % of resistance to a specific set of resistances. Drops rarely off high lvl mobs like krayts or NS.
Feathered Appearance Enhancments: (Peko Feathers) Keep it at a +health modifier, its good to be covered at the final piece when crunching serials and trying to get the piece to cap usinga variety of different enhancments. Drops off Peko Albatross's.
Interwoven Appearance Enhancments: (Acklay Hide): Change this to modify the hinderance of the armor.. Adds x .It is very hard to get to acklay. Why? Because your programers thought it would be funny to stockpile Kwi's At the door. Drops off Acklay of course.
Bio-Enhancment Cartridge: Now this one is gonna be awesome. They could really make up lost ground here with this if they do it right. (that is if its not in the game already) Make this a dropped 1 charge schematic for Master Bio Engineer. Require some sort of other drops like some noobie drops or something. Sorta like what they did with recyclers. Have the cartridge work much like the tissue does in RFP/Synth. Add mods to armor instead of just clothes. OR give the schematic to master bio engineer, call it "Armor Canvas" or something and it requires some sort of high end loot drop as its "required" component. Be like a liquid or something random that goes in itsrequired slotto complete the schematic. And have something other than our infamous nightsistersor krayts drop it. Drops rarely off Gorax, Nyax, or high level factional mobs much like AA's do. Gorax would be my pick because he only drops bone shards and theres only 1 good pistol that uses bone shards and very few weapons. So he is very unhunted.
Some other ideas i had were like altering the armors appearance with one of the other appearance modifiers. After all it does describe as "Appearance Enhancment". I know people that would do backflips off a building to have armor look different than everyone else. After all half isnt how good your armor is, but how well you look in it. Have alter the look of the armor. Add a new color, a glow, a graphic/partical effect. Or even a logo showing that you had rare enhanced armor. Could even make it a built in PSG of sort giving you a small extra protection to a specific resistance type.
I guess i could go on and on but ill stop.
