Thread: Pre CU AS grappling with current situation, fundamental question....

Hi folks, I've been reading everythingI can get my hands on, and believed I just realized something significant in post CU crafting. Is it true that each of the Assault classes (Chitin, Composite, Shock, etc.) can be made equally as well, and could all me made to a finish result near their cap? So an ANY type of unlayered suit in the assault class could potentially reach 7000K 5000E 6000B?

The same question for Battle (Padded, Maurauder, Bone, etc.), any of these types have the same chance of reaching it's class cap of 6000K 6000E 6000B?

If this is the case, then it's very possible to have a set of bone armor crafted, layered, and health enhanced, and itcould be a superior piece of protection? And that same armor could be better than unlayeredComposite, or Composite made with crap cores? So in essence, all we are doing is picking the "coolness" or preference of an armor type, there's no strategic value to Composite over Chitin, or Storm Trooper over Padded?

This blows my mind if I'm understanding howthings are now in post CU armor crafting. Sure does suck having all these crap composite segments in my factories!

Thanks!

The various armor types are just that. They are the appearances of the armor. The armor core is now what deterimines the protection attributes of the armor. Note that unless you cap, the final build with an armor appearance will add 400 to the core protection values. The cap on base is 6000.

You have it correct. The appearance (chitin or composite, etc) is just that, an appearance. It's the cores that will make the armor better. They did this because of the "Composite Clone Army" that had take SWG by storm pre-cu, as that armor was far superior to anything else. Now, we can have that high quality armor in any appearance and thus allowing for a more diverse galaxy.

All in all, I'd say it was a good thing to do. Also, faction armor has better condition then the regular armors, so their is a slight advantage to it over the others.

Yes on all points, except there will be some small differences in condition on standard armors depending on the stats of final combine resources that have spawned in your galaxy, e.g. bone is a final combine resource in chitin and bone armor. Also faction armor has a 1.5 x multiplier on condition compared to the standard non faction stuff.

RIS (battle) and Mando (assault) have a 2x multipler on condition, butare otherwise exactly the same protection as other armor made with the same cores.

I think there are three classes of armors:

civilian: condition ~50k (everything that is not military or elite)

faction: condition~75k (temporary schematics with 10 charges)

elite: condition ~100k (RIS armor and perhaps un-buggedBH armor. I don't know about Mandalorian)

Faction armors are expensive because you have to "buy" temporary schematics with faction points.

For example it costed me around 2.4M credits (as MasterSmuggler) to get all IMP armor schematics except the belts.

(the price was particulary low and I decided to buy them all).

.)cores+400 determine final armor resistances period (i.e. the armor class is not taken in account).

.) health enhancing armor is long and boring so better do it for high end armor

.) be sure to be RIS certified before thinking to heath enhance armor:

Peko Peko Albatros feather is a appearance enhancer mandatory to reach the cap +50 (except with pre-CU NS battle segment enhancers +20).

.) any armor piece accept now a appearence enhancement crafted from Peko Peko Albatros feather, not only RIS.
