Fellow SWG gamers and Armorsmiths,

Right now I am tired of the grind and am beginning to become bored with the same old same: "Get buffed, group, kill stuff, wash, rinse, repeat"

For this reason, I have decided to try and take up one of the professions that I have been interested in from the moment my Mon Cal face felt the warmth of the twin suns of Tattooine: ARMORSMITH

I have some questions though, about getting started and the like. One question I would like answered is this: "Should I grind till Master and THEN worry about making good stuff?"

The other question I have is "What kind of timeframe am I looking at from being a nOOb armorsmith to being an established, well-known purveyor of fine armor and other such wares?"

I have read some of the guides and they are very, VERY informative, but I would rather hear from the soldiers than the politcians....the people that live and breathe armorsmithing, rather than teach it.

Any tips, tricks, good places to find resources, advertising techniques, etc. PLEASE leave them here so that myself and others can benefit and can one day make a name for ourselves in the armor business.

1. It is up to you. If you want to save some credits or start to get a customer base, you may want to make stuff other than the master wares. I beleive that entha is now the default location for noobs. You should be able to make your money back by putting mabari on the bazaars there or selling to the new players. I gave away a lot of sets back in the day for free instead of doing practice mode. Also you can make wookie and ubese before master. If you do the experimentation line first, you should be able to make some decent of both if you have good resources even if you arent master

2. could be a month, six months or never. There are already a lot of established AS on valcyn now, so it may be hard to become another "well known, established" smith. Your best bet for success is probably in a player city that does not already have a smith. THere are probably 15 masters selling armor out of coronet and 5-10 selling out of theed. To be successful you will need a good shop location, good luck

3. best two places for resources, swgcraft.com and the trade forums

good luck and welcome to the fold
