Plz bear with me while I ask this 
Composite armor gloves only require 1 segment with 3 kinetic layers to be 80% special.
A chestplate takes 4 segments so is it possible to only put 3 kinetic layers in different segments to get the 80% special.
The reasoning being that the gloves only need 3 layers. So will 3 layers would on other armor parts.
I have not tried it but I assume other might have.
I ask because I was thinking of trying Adv Comp segments with 1x kinetic layer, 1 x energy layer and leaving the last layer slot for blast or stun. Then making kinetic, blast and stun chestplates etc.

you have to use the same composite seg X 4 to get the same effect as composite seg x 1 in glove. It is not a resist x 4 in a chest. just avg, but since you have to use same segs out of crate, you are gettiing the same stats as one. Just bigger piece of armorwhich the dev think need more segs.

also, you can get 80% kinetic with only 2 layers
