I've read people's concerns about the impact to the Armorsmith's business because of the Combat Re-Balance, and no doubt when armor starts absorbing less damage, it will last longer, and sales will be hurt.

But consider what happens when JTL is released and most people spend their time in space -- there is no wear and tear to armor! I predict armor sales will really slow down in the weeks and months after JTL is released.

Thoughts?

don't worry the devs said somehting about interdependency between crafters in ship building, shipwrights may be able to contruct hulls and ship parts but the best shielding may be crafted by an armorsmith and warheads by a weaponsmith etc. sales of ground based armor will drop, sale of armor will just shift.

yes, I think that AS will be making ship armor for the shipwrights to use, and WS the weapons that they have

Also, the less damage that armor absorbs, the faster it will decay. Not vice-versa. So the new armor won't last as long as stuff does now, as long as the system doesn't change.
