Thread: Question from a new smith regarding resist gating on Ubese

I recently mastered armorsmith with the intention of filling th gap in the market left by the departure of a few of the respected armorsmiths on my server. Another new smith and I are going into business together. I'm going to concentrate on ubese armor.

I have what I would consider excellent resources... with the exception of axidite iron which has not spawned on my server in ages. I have no axidite at all. The absolute best I can do with kinetic layered regular ubese is 57% kinetic resistance. This is obviously not going to sell.

My question is this:

Is regular (read non-advanced) ubese gated at a kinetic resist of 60% (or around there)? Will I need the advanced version to reach the 70-75% mark I see other smiths hitting or am I missing something in the crafting process? My kinetic layers come out at an experimental value of 87% and my ubese segments are coming out with an experimental value of 91%.

I've been waiting on a spawn of axidite for what seems like forever and I'm itching to get into business. I'd prefer not waste my stacks of high quality hide on a paltry 57% resist though.

Thank you.

Yes, you're thinking correctly. Regular segments cap at a much lower % than the advanced segments. Shop around for some resource vendors and see if you can find some Axidite.

The trade forums and every resource vendor I can find have yet to provide me with any axidite.

Ah well, at least now I know for sure that I need it and the search will continue. Thanks for the replies.

Not if he's on Intrepid... Believe me, those few who actually have some etaris left, won't let go, even for 15 first born children....... Have had nothing but garbage since ( although a couple of them might break the 70% barrier).
