Thread: RIS Resources Question From A Ranger

Greetings Good Armorsmiths,

I have lately decided to make something of a specialization of hunting resources for those of you making RIS armor and I have a few questions if you have a few moments to respond.

Question One:

Am I correct that a complete set of RIS requires the following which are collectable by a Ranger:

9 Woolamander Bone Fragments

9 GDK Scales

9 Gurk King Hides

27 Peko Peko Albatross Feathers (Optional)

30 Rori Wooly Hide

675 Yavin Animal Bone

Question Two:

I understand that the Peko Peko feathers are optional, but are they greatly perferred and considered of significant value?

Question Three:

How important are the stats on the Wooly and Animal Bone (given that there seems to be only a small amount needed)? If they are important, which stats are important to the RIS crafting process and is there a "minimum" value that any self-respecting Armorsmith would consider using?

Question Four:

Would my services be of greater value if I collected resources for full suits and offered them as sets rather than just a piece here and there?

I know this is not a trade forum so I will not ask you to comment on prices but I would appreciate any general comments as to whether a Ranger specializing is this market would be of particular value. I would also appreciate any other general comments you might have regarding how I could improve the value of this service to your profession.

Many thanks,

Most AS will not use them.... No point in hunting them IMHO.

I think selling all the loot as a kit would be a great idea. Obviously it would take much longer to gather but you could prolly charge an additional 20% or so. Also, most RIS crafters use at least one high quality NS layerin each piece (7% base and above) so you might wanna start hunting sisters. Good NS layers are fairly rare.

Since you're considering loot items, and collecting Yavin Animal Bone, you might as well get some Interwoven RIS schematics from Ackley as well.

I think the kits are a good idea, although I'm not sure if they will be successful. You might as well get some of everything for a few kits as a test, but I'm betting most of your work and profit will still just come from GDK scales.

And yeah, peko feathers are in limbo. They are too hard to find and kill to be worth what people really want to pay for them. Maybe just hunt them to help jedis with trials, make the feathers part of your payment, and then use them as an optional addon to your kits.

While your getting the Interwoven RIS schem off the Acklay. You may as well get some cubes while your at it. Yellow Geo Cubes Base 6 plus is good but I have heard you can get up to 14. Base is only 3 so I would just delete them

Base yellow cubes aren't very useful to AS, but WS would be interested in them.

Indeed, get 7 or more base yellow and you are talking 500k +

well if you're using primo RISresources and can hit 70 base with a non interwovan RIS layer (which I have personally done) then base cubes and base janta hides can pretty easily get you the extra 10% base you need (with the addition of one more layer) to hit 80% base RIS.
