I'm using 100% tools made during the "nerf," and for the past week, I have yet to get a "you repair the item with only minor blemishes" result. I've botched just as many as before, and everything else is "moderate"

Anyone else noticing this?

Are "nerf" tools (100% - made during patch) set up to fail somehow?

Yup... theres been a much higher frequency of 'repair with condition loss' results... this is probably some sort of intentional but undocumented change to get people to cycle through their old stocks and 'get the economy moving' by forcing people to discard their items after 5-6 repairs (though the rate of critical fails still seems high as well)
