I read on an older post that you just have to match the resists up on teh scales to use them , is this still true? and can i definately use these to improve the wookie armor being introduce? i really need some help before i start going crazy buying all these scales up.

I'm about 99% sure this is considered an exploit. If it's not, I've got a couple of unserialed white geo cubes. Sure would be nice to do a factory run of 500 scythes off of one schematic use...

I also have 4 unserialed Krayt Scales, just found them the other day.

They were looted and tucked away, no exploit to do it. How can that be considered cheating?

It was a mistake by the devs to let stuff like this drop without serials. Id not use them...would suck to have the items disapear or your account banned over it.

It's not an expolit to use them as intended, i.e. to treat them as a set, and use one for a schematic, the other three for a factory run of three identical segments, and then consider the segment schematic useless.

It is an exploit to abuse them in the manner the original poster is discussing, i.e. to use one unserialed scale to createa segment schematic that can be used to create segments with any scale, regardless of serial. Like I said, if this isn't an exploit, please let me know. I've got some unserialed white power cubes that I could theoretically use to create 1000 identical sword cores and thus 500 identical scythes from one schematic use. Or 199 identical geonosian sonic blasters from one schematic use.

If you've been around long enough to remember the exploit involving non-serialed krayt tissue, you'd understand that using unserialed items to circumvent schematic use or loot set size limits is at least half of one of the worst exploits to hit SWG (second only to multi-slicing, IMHO).

resists do not have to match, if you have good scale it is a great way to use them on a schematic then just use any old scale when you get it. I have a schematic and use it all the time, same sit. Use any serial scale in the factory.

What I understood from others was that people were making Legendary tissue or higher damage tissue lose their serial #. I.E. by exploiting somehow. If these were dropped like this why wouldnt I consider it a rare loot drop?

Lets say i never read the forums, I loot these, use them to make 1000 useschematics. How am I ever supposed to know that is an exploit? Can they ban me for a situation like that?

If you don't write down the laws how are you to enforce them?

I'll dance around the mechanics of the actual exploit since it's somewhat taboo, but the thing that made the krayt handler exploit so damaging was that it allowed legendary-stat handlers to be made from run-of-the-mill +30max, -0.3s tissues.

Again, the loot drop components are likely there to limit the amount of weapons and armor that can be made from the limited use schematics. I've got some unserialed Geonosian power cubes. With them I could make literally hundreds of scythes, DXR-6b rifles, or sonic blasters from just one schematic use. I highly doubt that was intended.
