I am wondering what is considered to be the best armor I can get without declaring a faction. Feel free to post what you think is the best and why.

Aye, you can only wear what armor you are certified for, and there's no difference in protections between the different types of earch armor, ie. Comp is as good as chitin, it just comes down to the quality of the AS and the res that he uses.
