I have just a question, that would be nice to answer to me
Well i looted some kliknik shells (i have some lots) and would like to do for what type of armor it's used, and the fair price i can sell them?
Integrity is 5000
Base effectiveness 10%
encumbrance -7 for action, health and mind
Thanx for your answers

kliknik shells are for chitin armor, examining it and reading the text should have said that, being that the base effectiveness is only 10%, you will be lucky if you can get this armor up to 40% base effectiveness total, assuming you use good resources, which for chitin armor is a **edit** to collect (alot of hide and bone involved) what I usually use these for is creating low HAM armor, I made a pair of boots that were 24% kinetic 14% base and the HAM cost was 010 and it has a high durability to boot (no pun intended)

Boy, I wish they were segment enhancers as I have some 30%base ones! Im not too sure what you are thinking of, but Kliknik shells are definately not enhancers, they are armor segments for Chitin.

Reinforced Kliknik Shells are indeed segment enhancers.
Kliknick Chitin Armor Segments are actual segments.

Actually, shells may be used as a segment enhancement. So this item will improve anyone'sarmor segment. You can't go wrong using that shell, unless of course you paid too much for it. Reduction in HAM, increase to base effectiveness, and high integrity. Not bad.
How much is it worth? It would depend on how many you have with the same serial number. If you only have one, then I would say not much. If you have 5 or more, then you have something worth buying. ( it will take five to make one composite or paddedchestplate) I bet you could sell them easily at 6k each. If you want to get more than that, then you will have to do some pimping in Coronet to find a buyer.

Bullcrap, reinforced kliknik shells are not segment enhancers, I have tried time and time again and it will only let me use them in place of chitin segments, i know what I am talking about, I make these often, I thought they were segment enhancers from the complete guide to armor crafting, BUT THEY ARE NOT.

Okay, one last time...Reinforced Kliknik Shells are NOT segment enhancers, they ARE Chitin Segments. I just loaded up every single armorsmithing schematic, and the only place I could fit Reinforced Kliknik Shells were the Chitin armor pieces.

Thank you, I was in the process of trying to get more of those damn shells so I could take some screnshots to prove it, I guess if they wont believe the words of two armorsmiths who have actually tried it, then I doubt my screenshots would help any.

The mobs I've seen that drop stuff for armor enhancement (Voritors, Sharnaffs, Klicknicks, Krayts) all have two different types of drops. One isa sement replacement, the other is a segment enhancer. Voritors have Voritor hide segments and voritor scales, sharnaffs have Plating Segments and Plating, Klicknicks have similar drops, but I don't remember the names right now. The segment enhancers are worth something in my opinion because they can be used in many different types of armor, the segments will have a description telling you what type of armor you can use them in.
Sharnaff plating, the segment enhancer, can be used in mabari, and chitin easily because these armors can be made up of segments that don't need to be identical. Wook armor, composite armor, and ubese armor need identical sement enhancers because the segments the go into those armors must be made using a factory run.
The value varies depending on what the armorsmith will use the segment enhancers in, but all in all, they are just not worth that much (with the exception of the krayt scales). The segment replacers are just plain useless most of the time. I personally think they make sub-standard armor. For example, even though I could use Sharnaff segments to create a chitin suit, and the suit would would protect you from more damage types as a result, the ham costs are usually on par with unlayered composite. Might as well just buy unlayered composite and get superior protection as well for the same ham costs.

Klikniks only drop segments for Chitin armor, a 10%base -7all enhancer is better than what you would get in a billion NS deaths. (3% -5action is the lowest, best I've gotten is 7%base and some with 4% and -9action)
As for stats from 10% you'll get roughly 25kin/base each and some light ham, like 0/6/3 on biceps/bracers. As for price, toss em on the bazaar for 500credits each, someone may buy them.

It seems the only way I can getresponses anywhere on the forums is to state a "fact". If I get flamed, then I know I'm wrong, if noone responds, I know I'm right. Its like everyone has me on global ignore.
Someone please inform Jaato that his FAQ is incorrect.

I posted a reply on the guide to armorsmithing saying that it cant be used as an enhancer, but no one seemed do notice, and sorry if I seemed a bit rude, I had just woken up and I am usually a tad on the grumpy side.
