Hey all you Armorsmiths out there!

I've been looking through R.I.S. armor FAQ's,and couldnt find the answer to my question, so I decided to make my own thread.

My question is, why was the R.I.S. armor changed from Medium AP to Light? I was really excited about having a better-than-composite armor to wear, but then I learned that the biggest asset to it (in my opinion) was nerfed!

Is it a bug, or is R.I.S armor doomed to be another armor for looks?

RIS armor was never intended to be AR2 (Medium). And while it seems the devs intended it to be a really good armor (the hermit you get the quest from says something along the lines of - there is no equal in battle, RIS is superior to all other armors) it should be quite clear by now that the devs are utterly incompetent and have no idea what so ever what they are doing and how the game works

Oh and perhaps i didnt make that point clearly enough, RIS has NEVER been AR2 it was just wishful thinking and rumors in the armorsmithing community

Yeah, never was medium armor.

IMO, RIS or any other special armor type will not be worth the trouble (except as a collectors item) until all other armor gets nerfed down to about 50-60% of current levels. Why go through the trouble to get a full set of RIS when you can craft and Effectiveness slice Composite to 80%+ all stats and 37%+ stun a helluva lot cheaper and faster. Currently Composite can be crafted up to a level that another armor type would have to be 80%+ ALL STATS to beat...

First complete RIS set made for myself on Aug 1, 2004 with stats of approx 75% Kinetic/4% Stun/5% Acid/65% Base/vuln to Lightsaber. (unsliced)
