I dont know if anyone has mentioned anything but what ever happened to "The legendary RIS armour"? Now all im hearing about is mandalorian armour, which I thought the madalorians would be extinct after 4000 years. So anyways, is RIS armour impossible to get or something or is it weak armour? What?

It required several creature loot drops for each peice, and one of them was only dropping in a small fraction of kills, so makes it rather limiting to make. Also the other loot drops are not exactly easy, so it takes a lot of time and effort to make a full suit of RIS.

If you want the best protection, go with layered and eff sliced composite. It can't be beat... If you want a collectors item that looks cool on your wall in your house... go for the special armor types....

RIS looks cool but the devs made it pretty much imposible to attain the components

If you're interested in the Stats RIS isn't what you want. Yes, It can and has been made 80% all stats.. but due to the exceptionally difficult loot resouces nobody is going to risk decay on this stuff. I did complete my personal set the day before "Crafting Nerf" day since I didn't know what it would do to the stats.. my set turned out very nicely with 65-79% kenetic and 50-65% base depending on teh use of the piece. Now working on my second set using Interwoven.. but the first took me 4 months and over 25 million credits to get the loot... so not going to finish anytime soon.

Dev's need to increase the amount of dropps for it, so that it compares to Composite as a rarer possible alternative... Maybe with a Acid Vul? Too make it valuable?

I just completed a fullset of Ris. I got the resist to about 75% across the board, except for stun and acid which its vunerable to. The base resists cap-out at 80%, and the kinetic special protection I got as high as 78%, due to the lack of a good chanlon intrusive ore spawn. If the numbers were better on the ore, it would probally go to 90%. I used the RIS seg schem dropped by the acklay, it allows u to use up to 3 layers, plus janta hides and geno cubes. I used 4% yellow geno cubes, 8% janta hides, 2 kinetic layers, and a 5% ns layer to get the best possible resists. And yes, it the most expensive under-taking u can tackle in the game, it will run you millions of credits and a crap-load of grinding.

Its trophy armor, nothing more. If it were posssible to have medium armor with 80% resists to all, then people might actually use it. But when its cost over 50 million credits to just aquire the resources for us to MAKE it, its not worth it.
Plus, like what everyone is saying here, triple layered composite is still better and a fraction of the price you would pay for RIS.
With how these loot drops are for RIS, I am going to bet that Mandalorian will be easier to acquire.

GDK drop rate is practically non-existent. I have enough for 1 or 2 pieces, but nowhere near a full suit. Quite cruel of the devs to introduce new "content" for armorsmiths, dangle it their faces, only for 99% of them not being able to play with it. But that's just my opinion.
And yes, I think the Mandalorian armor will be much easier to obtain. There's already a bunch of people running around in full BH armor on sunrunner, so as soon as the Death Bunker goes live, it should take a day or so for the first pieces of Mando to show up.

Yo, I know comp armor is more practical and cost effective, but RIS is by far the best armor in the game, considering the base resist go as high as 80% and the kintec as high as 90%. Plus don't forget the encumbrance is HALF of composite armor encumbrance. Anyway what armor looks cooler than RIS? Don't be a hater dude. Be happy there are ppl out there who went through the effort to complete the armor so you can see it in its glory and to give you the opportunity to at least know what stats it has.
