Am I the only one that thinks layers(feel free to replace "layers" with "armor")may not even be worth making that much, wait - forget that, a good amount of smiths have left already.

Recon results

Recon Unlayered

K: 4377

E. 6377

Base: 5377

Recon Primus (+33 - yes i have resources to make better now)

K: 4786

E: 6786

Base: 4968

Recon Energy (Dunno thevalue because of exp bug)

K: 3473

E: 7281

Base: 5377

With missions already dropping 5600 across the board...... =(

This system is retarded so far. What is the actual difference? 5% maybe? Primus will probably still be the best choice for recon if you get the energy over 7000. I am sincerely trying to like the new system, yet for some reason it continues to get worse the more i learn about it. At least put percentages back in... I am tired of being the "Armor Educator". The new system is way to complicated in area's it should be easy(certs, layers, 4 digit numbers - for the sake of all that is holy, if another level 1 retard asks me for armor again.... i'm going to scream("What are certs", "Why cant i wear this", "I dont have that much can you just give it to me, lol", or perhaps "What do the 4 numbers mean - what is the percentage". I have no desire to explain this crap to noobs and veterans alike every time i log in)and overly simplified in area's it should be more complex(experimenting, resistance results). I guarantee you that any noob armorsmith could match those numbers above with ease.

Dev's think back to the day when you brainstormed this awful armor system and think long and hard about how many illicit substances were involved. Like the rest of the CU. You guys do have good ideas, just REALLY suck at implementing them. Maybe fire a few of the morons and hire some Hobo's or something. I'll submit my resume - I can draw a picture of a computer with crayons, and sit in a cave for weeks on end without communicating with anyone, let alone my customers- I'm qualified. I say that semi-jokingly because I know you have some talented programmers. However, your management, think tank, and customer relations departments are about as good as your chances of getting an English speaking person when you call Dell or Microsoft(anyone else know what i'm talking about here).

My general advice is: Don't bother with layers until you've capped base unlayered. It is just a huge waste of resources.

After quite a lot of hours of resources hunting I can now make all three types of cores 6000 cap unlayered, so now my hunt for layer resources begins.. The real challenge will be to cap 6000 base even with the negative base from primus layers, I'm not sure that can be done..

Yeah, I personally don't think layers are worth it. However, when I tell people that I can boost kinetic and energy by 400 points (at a reduction of base by the same amount) and that it'll cost them 320K extra, more often than not, they tell me to make it primus layered. People must have too much money or something when they're willing to pay that much for 400 points. I don't dare go get the materials for better layers 'coz then even more people will ask for them and I hate making them

Oh well, maybe that will change when people have burned through their first couple of suits...
